Do not tell where you come from! :cookie: Just state *excuse the pun* what country and why. If it's your own country that you want to continue living in, say the name and reason but don't tell that that's where you came from.

    Constraints:
As the title suggests, actual countries please. :blobmelt:
If applicable: places where you ACTUALLY researched the living requirements or living conditions there. Or like have a first-hand experience/knowledge.

I'll go first. Luxembourg. The preserved buildings are gorgeous and has that vibe that seems so far from high scale buildings. From that video I watched, it seemed that the environment was really green like not the color, the air was fresh and really refreshing. Their government are godsend. They actually help you with the healthcare my god, the education also does not fall. The salaries? It seemed like a dream especially once you consider that there's a mandated vacation leave, y'know. Businesses there are booming(also the tax laws are favorable to the payers and not very heavy) and like, the SSS was really generous that they say that once you invested on it, it would really support your retirement ah! Safe!!! The overall quality of safeness is like 11/10.

:sweating_profusely: Are you planning on staying on a prison?

Jokes aside, yeah those cells looks a lot like a hotel. :blobphone: I can't even- the standards there are really quite celestial when compared to the typical low or middle income houses. I must say it looks even better than some of the apartments we had rented in before.

Seems like you are really into Luxembourg.

Personally I want to live in Japan, like not the Tokyo kind, but the zen mode, wooden sliders, futon, a spectacular over seeing hill ranges, kimonos kind.

But I'd be happy with any islands.... basically any retirement, leisure country.

Switzerland. Everyone's money and their mistress is there. When the next world war comes, that's the place to be. Second best are New Zealand or Iceland. Just, less people, more nature. Third best - Norway - the nature and the reserved and polite people. Fourth best - Belgium or Austria. Fifth - Canada. Sixth - Singapore. Seventh - dunno, some summer tourist destination island around the Southern European coasts.

Norway, Iceland, or Switzerland. Beautiful places close to nature. They're my ideals for what a "first-world country" is, especially norway. I would have also said Sweden, but situation's a bit volatile there right now.

Maybe also Japan? The work and bank culture there is very discouraging, though. If I was set for life and didn't have to work, then sure.

It seems Jpn is kind to old people, from the service, help and general public's view over convenience and comfort life. Maybe good place for retirement life.
But then, living in ny own country is the most comfiest.

Yes, recently just got into it. :)

I once dreamed about going into Japan too, was ready and all with going to try for international colleges there but I'm too afraid of falling short of their expectations. Lmao. Touring is fun and all but living there sounds so intimidating.

I really admire their discipline, cleanliness and trustworthy work ethics though.

I must admit I am quite behind the news, why is it best to go to Switzerland if a world war occurs in the future?

That's nice, what do you like best about it though? I want to hear some good points about it to overturn some bad.

Japan would be my 1st choice for this.
I would like to live in a particularly quiet and safe neighborhood.
With bamboo chimes hanging in the yard.
A particularly peaceful and cozy life.
People keeping to themselves most of the time since i am socially awkward.

The country i would never live in would be America..
The cost of living their is very high according what I've heard and researched

All the world leaders keep their valuables in Swiss banks. This is the country that kept its neutrality during the previous world wars since everyone has an interest to keep the country stable. While other countries got pulled into conflicts just because of their geographical position. I quite envy Switzerland and would go there for peace and quiet. It's expensive to live there, but with a decent job, it's manageable.

Actually the "Swiss neutrality" is a bit of a myth, when Germany demanded tribute in WWII for their neutrality, they had to pay up for it, not to mention it got bombed by both sides and both sides violated its airspace consistently then. In short they were not really neutral, they were the dummy both sides pummelled by accident during their fight.

Yeah, I know they didn't just sit back and enjoy the view of the world going crazy. I simply compare it to what happened to my country, not only during the war, but also the consequences after the war. And I do prefer the Swiss treatment. My country was just a convenient chess piece for the nazi, then the USSR. And it keeps being played around among Western and Eastern powers to this day.
