A musical in 1991 with SMPA and Tokio. I really don't know much about Japan.
I thought I knew a lot but I barely scratched the surface.
Its scary how idols dominate every single thing.

I use to think multitalented artists were cool but now that I am older I just see them as contributing to the unemployment crisis.
One person acting, singing, producing and directing is denying the jobs that can go to multiple people.
Thousands of jobs are lost every year

When you do it by yourself you save money when you are starting out it's very helpful, but as you start to earn millions you don't spread wealth to others.

I can understand not wanting to share your money with others. when you have lived a life of being broke barely making ends meet then you suddenly start to make money you basically want to hoard your wealth.

    I don't think it's about wealth.
The producer can cast his friends or a newbie that gets paid peanuts.

It's like the Eddie Murphy movies, I liked them as a kid but now I can't help but feel that he could have launched the careers of over 100 new stars, create his own agency and earn a cut of their earnings

eddie could have launched many careers, but I get why he didn't do it. doing so would mean he would have to work a lot and the amount of work would have left little time to spend with his family.

If I were him and I was that rich I would try and work as little as possible.

I think launching careers means less work.

Having to play multiple roles is more work and time away from your family.

It's like being a CEO, you work less than office workers

True. I know that people like Stephen Chow makes money from launching others.

    I feel it's a missed opportunity.

Almost every A list Chinese star has their own talent agency.

Korean stars are starting to do the same.

Just like fan translations promote with the tag line : " By fans for fans"
" By stars for stars" is a great tag line

There are a lot of positives when ppl with money create more work for other to prosper. I think the reason many ppl don't do it is because of fear of losing money or don't know how to do it then there is the 3rd group who hasn't thought of this yet.

I read an interview about Drew Barrymore. She started producing her own movies in her early 20s.
Movies like Never Been Kissed would not have been made by someone who isn't an actress.
I believe not everyone has an entrepreneurial spirit which is a shame.
I came across this song from the drama Tokyo Love Story, you might like it:

Not only that the Barrymore family have been wealthy for a long time they are a dynasty at this point. her grandfather past away in 2004 and from what I heard she inherited everything he owned and invested if she isn't a billionaire she is damn close to being one.

Drew has been a millionaire since she was 15-16 years old she had been an actor since young.

    her godfather is Steven Spielberg.

Drew has more connections than 10 top Hollywood actors combined

I know she was connected but also backlisted. I still believe Steven Spielberg helped even if indirectly.

But I am not comparing her to newbie stars but established big names.

I just find it sad that at 50 you have stars who want to play 30 year old action stars in their own productions. When they could cast a young talent and still earn their money

now you are talk about Bruce Willis and Silvester Stallone. they just can't seem to let go of the front seat. they could easily help someone launch a career as an action star, but they won't.

jackie chan could also do it, but I don't think our generation has the grit to do all the stunts he does themselves. <-- it takes years to even get them stunt ready so I guess it's harder.

Jackie Chan has a stunt team whom he launched their careers. eg Maggie Q
    It's not a perfect example

I don't think he falls in that group.

That's the point so it's fine lol.

One of his stuntmen died a few years ago. He is Caucasian and quite young.

He played the villain in Gorgeous and Who Am I

Yeah no , It's mosty employers that pay entry job wages but want 20+ years of exp , people that live off the government , people that aren't able to work, government that adds years until retirement 60 to 65 to 70 and companies that do not want to hire old people. People that want to work in A sector can't find a job in A sector so don't work and other people

You are engaging is victim blaming.
    It is not that simple.
Taking a job that doesn't pay enough is not helpful.

Job creation should be the priority.
Then living wages should be enforced.

You don't know the personal situation, a person with a chronically sick child cannot work at a place too far from home
