Having stumbled across his natural talent for Dark magic, Metnius became cocky and started proclaiming that he would become a great adventurer.

He was immediately tricked into thinking black clothes would boost his dark magic by the children in the village. Two weeks later he was scammed into buying "magic boosting" ink by a travelling merchant. He then used that ink to tattoo what he believed were "ancient runes" onto his face. Worrying for the teenager's future,the chief of Metnius's village sent him to go get experience at the Adventurer's Guild.

After hearing about this, Metnius immediately set off without getting provisions for the journey. By the time he found the guild,he had already spent three weeks living off of nothing but wild-grass or mushrooms and eating slimes when he was thirsty.
