Hobbies: Playing the Flute, Sewing, Caring for Kids in the Nearby Orphanage.
Rotse: Aria's favorite flute, the 15 years old gift she got from her mother, and one of the only things she has left from Tasarin, she holds it as a deep memento and plays it whenever she has the chance.
School Girl Uniform: The clothes she usually wear while working, they're the clothes she was using when she ended in Edhellen. They feel special to her and she refuses to work with any other design.
The ones she originally wore are stored in her home however, she sewed multiples of those in order to keep the memories of who she was when she came here.Song Magic: Aria's plays with the flute tend to soothe the hearts of the people nearby, she isn't particularly good at it, but it's great for adventurers that just lost an important companion in a quest. It also tends to attract multiple cats for some reason.
Talking to Cats: Even if they aren't capable of rational thought, cats are somehow able to understand Aria's words, and she can understand their intentions when they "speak" to her.
Eternal (?) Youth: Ever since she came to Edhellen, Aria's body seems to have stopped aging, she looks the same as she did back when she was 17.Born in the world of Tasarin, Aria lived her first 17 years of life in a peaceful and modernized environment with not much to worry about.
Her life was simple, but not a bad one. Her father died of cancer when she was 4, and her mother, Elza, was never the same afterwards... She seemed to dedicate all her free time to her only child, Aria, as if she saw in her, a way to cope with the death of her husband... Sometimes Aria felt that Elza was not looking at her, but at the memory of her dead father... She didn't mind it though, she was happy if she could help her mother, and did her best to not worry her.
In school, Aria was quite the prodigious student, good at both studies and athletics, she was always one of the best in her grade. At 9 years old she discovered a passion for music and dedicated a good amount of her time to learn the flute. When she was 15, she won the national youth music contest by playing Black Sam. Her mother, delighted, gave Rotse as a gift to celebrate the achievement... She refused to tell the flute's price to Aria however, she said it didn't matter and Aria deserved it.
By far her greatest treasure, Aria cherished the flute a lot and always brought it her almost everywhere she went... It was her lucky charm.
When she was 17 however, as the train passed right next to her, everything became white, Aria could no longer touch nor see anything... When her sight came back, she was in the middle of a forest, far from the civilization she once knew. Aria was desperate, trying to understand the ununderstandable, trying to find a way home, trying to come back to her friends, to her family... She had no clues though, nothing to go by... And she was worried, worried about her mother, worried if she was well now that she wasn't there... She didn't want to imagine how Elza would feel once she lost not only her husband, but her daughter as well.
After a whole week without finding anything though, Aria was forced to leave the region she was in and move deeper into the forest, even if just to get some food, for she already ate the berries that grew nearby... It was a rough period of her life, she had no clue what was edible or not and was always worried she'd eat something poisonous by accident, she was absolutely scared of snakes and had no idea what to do when she saw her first monster... Paralyzed from fear, she'd be dead meat if a bigger monster didn't come and eat the first one, allowing her to go out of the stupor and run away.
Took her a whole month to finally exit the forest and find the town of Nagrand. The Orcs in it terrified her at first, and the fact they couldn't understand one another didn't help in the slightest... She needed help, but she didn't even know how to ask for it... Aria started living in the streets, playing her flute in the town's square to earn some money, and having only the cats as her companions.
She doesn't know when it became clear that the cats actually understood her, but she knows they definitely did not have this capability back in Tasarin. At first she thought it was a special characteristic of the cats of this underdeveloped world, but it became clear that she was the only one that seemed to be able to talk to them... It was strange, but in her situation, it was something she was thankful about. Even if they couldn't speak, they were still the only company she had.
After around half an year living in the streets, Aria could finally understand enough of the common tongue to speak basic broken sentences, enough to get her point across at least. Her flute playing was fairly popular so she was well-known enough in the town by now too, so she tried finding some job that could pay enough to let her stay in an inn at least...
The world isn't so kind though, a girl that came from who knows where, wearing strange clothes, that barely knows how to speak, and that has a weird flute that seemed to magically attract people? Aria scared people, jobs were not something she could find at all... Her income also decreased because she spent less time playing due to job-hunting. Hunger was becoming hard to deal with.
In desperation, she searched for a job in the guild, but all the jobs available for adventurers were too scary for her... She didn't want to die, she wanted to meet her mother again, she wanted to go back... After some complicated talking with the guild's staff, she was hired as maid to help cleaning the establishment and serving food for the customers. Aria was more than happy with that, and she was allowed to keep using her weird clothes too since it seemed to attract customers.
This was the turning point in her life, as she became quite popular with the tavern's usual customers... At first she had a really hard time dealing with the drunkards within it, but with time she learned that those idiot perverts were not bad people, they were just a bit too courageous because of the alcohol. Also, her songs were a success that made quite a few people become regulars in order to hear her.
As the years passed, Aria learned the language properly, understood that there seemed to be some magic at work in her flute, even if she had no idea how it actually worked, and how interdimensional travel was a concept pretty much unknown... Sure, some people do claim to come from other worlds, but pretty much nobody heard of anyone that went from Edhellen to other worlds...
It was depressing. To be forced to accept the reality she'd never see anyone she knew again was a horrible realization... But then, what else could she do? Options simple weren't a thing available to her.
When she was 23, a flu outbreak took over most staffs of the guild and they became unable to work... With more and more receptionist duties piling up, Aria was half-forced into substituting for the sick receptionists until they felt better... Turns out she was actually good at it, so the guild let her keep doing the job for a few months before she was effectively contracted as a receptionist, something she was pretty happy about because the salary was considerably higher.
Nowadays, Aria enjoys her job at the guild and has a fair amount of friends in Nagrand... She still misses Tasarin, but her home is here now, she came to terms that she won't go back and hopes her mother is doing well... She learned how to sew in order to replicate the design of the uniform she had long stopped using as a way of keeping some part of herself still close to her previous world... It was a way of coping with everything too, to tell herself she had not forgotten.
In her free time she still often visits the tavern to chat with any adventurers or to play her precious flute to the bystanders... Since she came to the town a bit too old for Edhellen's standards, she never had the chance of enjoying a love life, most people of her age were already married and with children. Nowadays she already accepted that she'll probably be single for life.
In the recent months, Aria started considering adopting a child though, so she started visiting the orphanage to play with the children. She is pretty popular and they seem to really enjoy the time with them... Maybe she'll adopt one soon, she seems to look fondly over the idea of being called mother, but is still a bit scared of it, memories of her own mother always resurface when she thinks of becoming a parent herself... It's not easy to raise a child on her own.
One day though, she'll definitely take the courage to make that last step. One day she will.
