@OnceandFutureLurker haha yes the experience of making comparisons is good fun! it used to be hard for me to imagine how to use English to describe things like transmigration and cultivation, I once thought only Chinese people can understand them lol but now it feels great to have so many people understanding and liking them.

@OnceandFutureLurker well most of the times the translations are surprising accurate, so I'm actually often amazed by the English versions:) Hurray to the translators' hard work!

i) Listening closely to what people say is essential to reading between the lines. Develop your listening skills and practice them regularly.

ii) Notice what the person does not say. What the person leaves out may be as important as what they include. After the conversation, consider whether they left out anything that you think is important.

iii) Reflect on the things the person said. After the conversation, reflect on what was said. Ask yourself some questions to identify things that seemed important or that might have a hidden meaning.

iv) Ask for clarity. After the conversation, it is fine to ask the person about anything that was unclear to you. Be honest if you don't understand something or if you want more information about something they said.
