    So the question in the title is referring to this;
I have quite some chapters piled up right now and if I wanted to read them it would take me at least 3-4 weeks to finish them all (check:tags) and almost all of them are series I really like such as Gate of Revelation - Warlock of the magus world - martial world and others.

But the problem is this, I can't convince myself to start reading them. It's been like this for about a month now, right now I ran out of things to read and I'm seriously bored but there is still something keeping me from reading these chapters I've been saving. I keep going to the site they are translated at and opening the 1st chapter just to look at it blankly for about 15 minutes then closing it TT_TT

I know that if I start reading one I won't stop until I finish them all but like I said problem is starting. What do you think is the problem, and if something like this happens to you as well, what do you do at that time?

It happens to me too. Although I'm bored I just don't try to read the novels that I kinda dropped because the translations stopped for a period. But when it gets picked up, I kinda just lean away from it.

My condolences friend, I have no such issue. I do as my heart desires, without my mind impeding it's way. In other words, I don't overthink, I simply do.

Just do a chore or something work related... I'm pretty sure that the procrastination will force you to read them instead.

I have this problem with lack of motivation when it comes to reading some novels. My solution it so ignore the novel and read something else. When I get the feeling that I want to read the other one I'll do it then. Forcing myself to read now doesn't help at all~

Don't read until you want to. You don't have to force yourself. Catching up to the translation isn't really a good thing

Wait until you know that something epic happened in the novel. Then you will automatically get the urge to read the novel.

    you do the smart thing,
listen to your smarter brain thats telling you not to commit the biggest blunder of your life and escape getting mindfucked by stupid harem JP novels with fugly dense and stupid mc's who are lolicons and rapists.
at this point you're doing yourself a favour by not reading these novels

That's cus it'll work. The OP shouldn't do it though, cus he clearly has other problems to worry about.

Like lack of exercise and clutter in his brain, causing some hidden anxiety in his amygdala that prevents him from starting the task.

I blame it on the mood. When I look up novels to read, I automatically stereotype and discriminate against them. I subconsciously classify them as a typical Wuxia, a typical harem, or a typical horror, and assume a lot about the story because of it. With an assumption made, I'll only read the novel if I'm in the mood for that genre. For example, on normal days I'm happy with typical wuxia, harem, etc. Very rarely am I in the mood for survival, horror, or drama, and only when my mood is right do I look forward to romance. Sometimes when I've read a lot of action stories, it's nice to read some non-violent series too, series about inventing and exploring.

So if you ever have trouble reading a certain novel that you really should read, try setting up the mood. Try to get your body and mind into that specific genre, for example if it's a romance, play some love songs in the background, or spend a few min. looking at romantic pictures, something to prime your mind and set the mood.

Of course, if you just don't like that genre, don't force yourself. Novels are supposed to be enjoyable, not a chore.

if you don't feel like it don't read it
its like writing a poem when you have the inspiration you write good stuff and when you don't you write trash
stay away from the novel deal with different things and one day you will want to read it again this is what I did once when the LN had stopped updating after it went some chapters I started reading it again dropped it cuz I was bored and went back to it some time later id suggest you read other stuff meanwhile
