I notice that there seems to be a trend among the stereotypical MCs of Asian novels. These stereotypes seem to be segregated according to location. The stereotypes in question apply only to male MCs.

Japanese MC:

1. Wimp, pussy, wuss.
2. Dense in regards to the opposite sex
3. Have a stronger sense of morality than the rest.
4. Often times daft.(I'm looking at you Shounen >_>)

Korean MC:

1. Jaded and disillusioned.
2. Sad, not happy past.
3. Doesn't easily trust others.
4. Selfish
5. Tendency of being NTR'd
6. Game elements

Chinese MC:

1. Arrogant
2. Kill on the slightest provocation.
3. On a journey of revenge for disciple xx of [XXX] sect who stole his shoe when he was young.
4. Kills their nemesis, his wife, children, parents, siblings, cousins, aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, and grand and greats of everything. It's a miracle if the family tree survives.
5. Tends to be OP, or quickly become OP.
6. What's forgiveness?
7. Innumerable rape victims

I wonder why these stereotypes are so? Is there some deep cultural reason for these. Please explain.

Which MC are you. As for me, I'm most likely Korean.

Hmm, you're clearly biased against JP and CN here, not that I dislike it but give some more neg. stereotypes for KR as well. KR too have some stereotypes
1) They are clearly written for people with "Badass-complex", similar to stories which are written just so people can self-insert themselves in the story to fantasize themselves becoming a hero. And well apparently no one can be more powerful than them and they have to take up all the secret skills( with almost all KR novels here having game elements)
2) (Something I personally dislike) "He promised to himself he would never trust anyone" "He went through extreme tortures and shit , he would not pay attention to that beauty " , oh whats that? 10 chaps in and he's gone and done it

 

Ugh.... I havent read any NTR KR novels coz if i did i wouldnt probably be reading KR at all since 70% of what i read in NU are KR

Lol well, they are not successful and as even brain-dead CN xianxias and JP reincarnation novels arecash-cows, nearly all KR novels are similar in the aspect that they all contain game elements. Well, Apocalypse Summoner seems to have Gender bender and NTR and shit(spoiler later on), after which many people started dropping it, which is probably why TLs don't pick those stories.
