Been looking to pick this up for a long time now, but the only thing that is scaring me off is the fact that i know that the translators like to use a lot of chinese words in the translation basically forcing you to read the mass amounts of foot notes they leave. My question is, how bad is it? And does it get worse or better as the story progresses? Because what i want is to read a translated english novel. And not have to look up words every few seconds.
It's slow but quite unique in it's own good ways so i say try it and you're probably going to like or even love it. Depend on your tastes too tho
Not massive amounts of footnotes. Start is kind of slow but the wuxia comedy combo is done in a good way. The comedy is my main pont for reading this novel, but the serious part are good to.I think is a novel that you should read to see if you like it or not.
what is putting you off this novel is the chinese terms, i am the same but with all honesty it gets better and the first couple chapters of chinese terms are worth it the novel is amazing
It all depends I personally and not the biggest fan of the story. But I will not deny that it's set out good characters and plot. But than again it's depends if you like it.
i really hate bad comments, wish i could throw bad comments on every human !! anyway OT: read it if you like it but don't throw your thrash on it, else the ge (MC) in their will hunt you in your dream... jk its not bad, and sometime funny as well MC is thick skinned, not that much cares about cultivation (actually he does, but money b4 cultivation) but does cares a lot about jingshi (money) at first he got zombie face ~(just imagine it, some flesh missing from the face and can't laugh) and the story is about him with the ppl that follows him
Footnotes are pretty few after the first 40chapters and most of footnotes are simple words like sect/seniority status and money/a couple farming items.
Boring. Has moments where it gets exciting but overall a boring novel imo. You should try reading Transcending the Nine Heavens if you want a novel with nicely developed side characters, humour and a story that will hardly ever bore you.
Great story, has a lot of slow build up but it really lets you get a feel for the novel and the footnotes are only in the beginning and is definitely worth the read if you enjoy a nice long book.
