I believe he was a TV station colleague who was being mistreated because he protected the female workers from being harassed by the director's son or something. Turns out this old man worked overtime without overtime pay and used much of his pay to help kids in the neighborhood, at the expense of his own daughter's tuition. He died of a heart attack while working overtime and no one was around, and when MC found out about it he was pissed and goes to funeral to tell off the director.
