    so true, I started Inuyasha late and dropped it after a few eps, Rurouni Kenshin semi-late so it was okay, aso it is more mature

    Well, I'm too old to be called a girl, but I'm definitely a lady, and I read xianxia, regardless if it is full of action, mysoginistic, or anti-feminist. CD, MGA, ATG, ISSTH, TMW, TTNH, MP, etc. Years ago I watched Dragon Ball too....up to the point where Gohan born (after that, the plot are in excess). I've got no problem with genre and theme, but overly long series, especially where MC goes on endless died-revived-died-revived cycles tired me out.
    Therefore, I also read wuxia, adventures, action, slice-of-life, VRMMORPG, fantasy, romance, otome game, and yaoi.

    I love scheming MC, ruthless, and shameless (like the MC in law of devil-kind) but some are just over the top. Stripping and bathing in a girls room who just finished (tdg) - no thanks! It's just disgusting and stalkerish!

    Umm... Girls do read xianxia, you know. I am one and have read a couple including ISSTH, TDG, MGA, OEM, ST, TGR and others. Nope. not a tomboy either.

    Yeah, there are many girls who likes anime but not yaoi. Most of my female friends who likes anime are not yaoi lovers. For one, not all people are comfy with the concept of same-sex relationship. On another hand, some thinks that their favorite OTP is ruined by yaoi fans, such as NarutoxSasuke instead of NarutoxSakura or NarutoxHinata

    I read Xianxia (albeit very choosy on what I keep reading), so there does exist at least one girl who read them. Nvm that I played MMO for 3years until my friends found out I'm really a girl behind that female character... but I really am a girl.

    Right now I only read a few and drop most, due to the excessive harem content -there's only so much harem and rape one could stand before dropping a title- but I'm still reading ATG(we'll see how MC goes with Little Fairy's matter) and ISSTH(book 3 comes out and it's getting hard not to say reading it is the best decision I've ever made regarding Xianxia genre titles).

    I don't even understand the question actually. Those are not the same thing to even compare. If one ask "Anime or Manga" or "Yaoi or Yuri"...that makes more sense.
