Discussion Key skills for another world...

I've been thinking about this for awhile, and now synopsis for "Help! Google-sensei!!" brought it to mind again. If you were sent to another world what is the weirdest thing you know, or have asked Google-sensei about, that would be useful in a fresh start (bronze age or earlier) type culture.

Knowing how to make gunpowder and primitive grenades. Nothing solves problems like lots of explosives do.

Yup, all problems are gone after an explosion, even if they aren't caught in it. Unless you are in the Gifting LN, monsters show up en masse after casting explosion magic, but thats why you have multiple grenades, I guess. lol

I'll start off with the essentials. Efficient agricultural systems are a must for advancing the population. With better agriculture, the people can populate safely and without worry. To ensure people don't go off on the wrong track, establish that bureaucracy, democracy, and oligarchy are all the works of evil. Communism is the only effective method and you know it. After establishing a proper government and ensuring the people's well-being, we place an emphasis on education. By having a safe, literate environment in which people can gain merits based on their work that is properly ruled: People can then start focusing on the intricacies of life. Since people are literate and healthy, we introduce them to art and science. With all this knowledge and creativity gathered in a generation that is properly reared by parents who have struggled in an illiterate, struggle-ridden time, people will make rapid advances in science and technology. Religion will be outright banned, and people will not suffer setbacks since they will whole-heartedly believe in the facts. In a century or two they might even surpass present-day humanity. Since, you know, they didn't have to worry about being called witches and demons for practicing science. Being burned at the stake doesn't exactly do wonders to motivate people to learn sciences.

I think i googled how to establish a cult and other organisations such as a mafia sometime in my life. Gotta get those superstitious followers or those henchman who worship you as their all powerful boss.

Google a auto updating otherworldly Wikipedia search engine like thing! Then imprint it in your mind, i am sure the tech to do that exists today...

 

Translator/comprehension skill the only true important if you want to communicate with the folks, the rest will come after.

If you are alone , the solitude skill , to bear the fact to be all alone forever.

 

Its not weird but the most useful would be farm methods and food related things, such as how to preserve food, how to cook them as such, with such knowledge your value in that world would be sky high

 

Have any of you read 10 nen goshi no HikiNiito o Yamete Gaishutsushitara Jitaku goto Isekai ni Ten’ishiteta? Knowing different things that you can eat, could save lives... I recomend reading it!
