Novel Updates Next Feature

1. Maybe you can add Hide features at user's setting. Hide latest topic at home page, hide user review, hide description, hide latest discussions, or something like that.
2. We have log activities, but I don't this is for user or not. Maybe you can add log what users change at their profile, what are they doing with their reading list, what chapter they have read before and after, yes, something like that.
3. Add highlight for latest release. Different highlight with color new release. If you add that, we have four highlights.

I'm sorry if my suggests have added, but I don't know where they are. Please, tell me if its there.

A feature to see a chapter's title: to lessen space it can be a '?'-icon added to the chapter link. When tapping, clicking or putting the cursor onto it you get a small window with the title.
Like this it would be a lot easier to find a chapter.

Hi could we get an option of merging our reading lists? I recently realised that I have a bit too many different folders and it gets too confusing but seecting all the novels and then clicking move button is kind of a hassle so perhaps you have 2 very similar folders so you just click merge (and select a new name for the merged folders)

I'm also curious about the special feature...

Other than these 2 I don't have any new suggestions.

 

yup an individualised one, don't you sometimes find yourself wanting to reread those certain epic moments in a novel ? or to reread those certain infodump chapters . . .

 

But... it has always been in my sig...

 

Maybe include annoucements in novel releases/on group page. How many times I missed hiatus annoucement and was waiting for release like an idiot...

Btw, @Tony, just for my curiosity. What platform/framework is NU working on?

When you click a genre tag, allow to search by last release date (and make it the defualt, descending!). You can arleady do that when directly going on the search page, but if you click a genre, for example http://www.novelupdates.com/genre/action/ , you can't set the filter to that.

 

This happens to me quite often, where i accidentally tick mark the novel, that I'm saving chapters for ,and i lose the chapter where i was last reading.
So i was hoping there could be something like a last read button instead of the tick boxes, where you would'nt accidentally hit the box when you are scrolling the page on your phone.

 

EN tags. Raw links. Option to have more releases shown on the first page of a title, currently it only shows 15 per page.

I don't know if this could be implemented or not...
how about the mass release that exceed 5/10 or more chapters compressed to become 1 post on the main page???
for example if there are mass release from v2c71 to v2c81...
instead of posting them individually I think it's better if they could be posted on main page as v2c71-v2c81 or something like that...
if you need the specific chapter link you could open the novel page instead...

I remember before that there's a novel that posted a mass release till about 1/3 of the page...
well maybe for people who follow those novel don't think it's a problem, it's a good news for them instead...
but for the others who don't follow those novel i think it's a bit annoying...

for the other ideas i agree with different color scheme for each reading list & the ability to sort the reading list without restraint...

An app(that might be asking too much tho) maybe just the ability to get notifications for stuff on your reading list through the browser.

I want a way to filter the frontpage. I use it to discover new stuff, but I haven't found a way to filter out the chinese stuff, which I don't like.

I agree that adding more features to the reading list seems like the most desired users might want. I think eliminating the 5 minute editing deadline on posts would be good too. Another nifty feature would be the ability to track the release rate for a particular novel between two particular dates (or points in time). This could be useful when users want to quickly approximate how fast a particular translator was/is. This is a feature that I definitely have wished for in the past. The last feature suggestion is maybe an easier way of scrolling through the tags (and not losing one's place in scrolling) when trying to pick tags for a manual search for a novel. It'd always be great if it were easier to have multiple tags (I honestly hadn't figured out how to do that yet...)
