Hello! Sorry if there's not much clarity, but what I remember is: - The MC is a magician that holed himself up in his tower(?) (that is undetectable or something maybe?), to read all the books about magic in the world. - When he finishes and leaves, looking for interesting new magics, he saves a girl in a forest I think? - she mentions about all the magic books going missing or something since quite a while ago (his fault ofc) - MC knows all the important people like the demon lord I think. He sends a bird(?) familiar(?) to deliver some letters to those people. He wondered whether some of them are still alive (whether died of old age yet?) - Nothing to do with reincarnation or anything I believe, probably a Japanese web/light novel - I don't recall reading very far in - perhaps it wasn't translated very far? it sounds hella interesting. then i read that bit, and now i'm really, really, really hoping it's not a light shounen harem novel... edit: sorry, OP, i dunno the novel, but imma read that fo sho. the premise does sound a little like Ze Tian Ji tho, he reads all the collected books before leaving the boondocks for the city.

No problem. I just read it, fresh of my mind. Chapter 1 of the manga is just released today. There is always this tactic to bring attention to a title when a new release or adaptation ia announced. And most if not all, they are done by passive members. So, you see why I came to this conclusion? Not saying it's bad. Just, expected

Though seriously, is there any way I can even show that I didn't do this on purpose
It just wasn't to my liking. 99% of WNs have terrible story; it's really just a matter of whether or not one particular type appeals to you or not. I give everything a chance, because sometimes you find gems, but this one wasn't it.
