As a reader who followed the story I have to say that the prank (if true) or the wordless disappearance of the author(unless he got kidnapped, hacked or hit by heavenly tribulation) was an equally shitty move, especially to the people who enjoyed the story. However, there are a lot of people who enjoy the misfortune of others - to each their own. 10/10 for 'how to play a prank' (if true)
so what? it's not even their story. they're just trying to spice their life up there's nothing wrong with it. furthermore they received the author's permission and the author doesn't even seem to want to post it himself so he wouldn't even care for the readers.
This whole thing remind me of that one novel listed on NU disguised as China-origin novel by the translation group but instead was a Chinese-like novel by a non-China author. The whole audience was duped by the translation group. And this. Is why I don't read RRL works.

This whole story seems fake to me. I think it is more likely that either OP may have nothing to do with the novel and is just trolling around, or he may be the author who has run out of steam or rage-quit butthurt. Number one under heaven was an entertaining webnovel, but it isn't the first entertaining webnovel that got dropped and it certainly won't be the last. In the end, everybody will end up forgetting it, and it will be lost in the sands of time. Maybe it is better this way. Who knows if the author would actually be able to keep the story fun? It would probably lose quality with time and end up disappointingly, or it would eventually be dropped, just like most webnovels... Better be dropped sooner than later.
