Editor here. o7 In regards to the names (Bi Er vs Bear, Fu Ke Si vs Fox), the reason why it is retained is because the author quite clearly has a split in regards to their writing. They will constantly refer to the tribe and then compare it to the animal, such as one of the characters being "a Fu Ke Si that was smarter than a fox"; they're deliberately applying wordplay that would be lost if it was wholly anglicized. Couple that with a few outliers (such as Bisi Mai referring to... swans), and you have an instance where the author's intent is not fully understand. If we anglicize the ones like Bi Er and Fu Ke Si into Bear and Fox, then do we also change Bisi Mai into Swan, despite the lack of parallel in pronunciation? Do we translate it into Bear, Fox, and then just leave it Bisi Mai out of nowhere? Do we just leave them all as-is? It's not the easiest of situations to determine, but I'd argue that the route that has been taken—keeping things in their original—has the lowest odds of omitting detail, nuance, or information that the author wanted to convey to the audience. I would far rather keep all of these details within the work itself than have to relegate it to a footnote later on, especially if it would have worked before but doesn't any longer due to decisions we've made before that point. ----- As a reader, this (specifically, c72) is the point I ended up stopping at in the manhua, so going forward will be particularly interesting for me. The developments that have suddenly started pique my interests considerably, in large part because I didn't quite expect the development to occur right now; I'm far more used to it being stretched out in other series.
yo, is it just me that thinks the whole swan girl thing was a bit unnatural??? i mean, i felt like he had more chemistry with the rabbit girl.... but who am i kidding, this thing's a harem lol
Hah! I often just ignore any romance in these kind of stories. Would not have remembered it if you haven't brought it up. Nope they don't happen and I'm happy that I don't remember them.
I'm very sorry for not announcing my sudden disappearance, however, these couple of months have been hectic for me. I will post an official announcement somewhere and sometime soon, and restart my translating before then end of the month. My apologies for the lack of communication.
Hi, Sorry about the delay, I'm still developing my site for the novel right now, so the restart has been pushed back. Hopefully it will be starting up soon again. My Apologies
