    It depends on your tastes. I can't suspend my disbelief for the MCs memory. I got pissed when the supposedly average MC had nearly fully memorized how to make concrete, and from what I hear his memory has later extended to chemistry and the like. To me, it screams Deus ex Machina, but to fans the "nearly fully memorized" makes it all okay. He can memorize one textbook (basic chemistry) and be normal; after all, he hasn't memorized the entire series
