Just saw this Japanese light novel mentioned in conjunction to the harem genre. How is it? I'm about 6 volumes into mushoku tensei and find it a bit boring but I think it is supposed to get better later on. Does this one have more action? Also I see it has the tragedy tag but I saw a spoiler that said it had a rather uplifting ending. Is this accurate? No major spoilers please, just impressions if you can.
its a good harem novel, the tragedy part is more along the line of tear inducing and not trauma inducing. the action are ok.
It is pretty good. Including the ending. And the side stories. You definitely should read it. It starts getting good by the end of volume 2. And it starts getting awesome by volume 8-9, as stated above. Read it. But beware of feels, they will kick you in the gut sometimes.
Sevens is great. The beginning is slow, but as more characters are introduced the humor will improve and keep you going. Afterwards, the author will start in on the plot, but to re-emphasize you will have to bear with some world building in the beginning.
Pointlessly uplifting. Harem becomes a bad joke where girls are added for laughs towards the end. The main girl fails as a character.
It seems that 3 intermission chapters are still not translated (So I Tried Asking My Ancestors part 1, 2 and 3) ?
Thanks for all the recommendations for Sevens! I will definitely read it. By the way, does mushoku tensei get better later on as well? I read up to volume 6 and I find it a bit lacking. I can make another thread on it if mixing that question in here is inappropriate.
The journey was great, but afterwards it is all downhill. Rudeus's reunion with his father is the best scene in Mushoku Tensei, and while I struggled on until maybe volume 20, Mushoku Tensei does not improve past that. The romance dies as the author starts throwing girls at Rudeus (Eris is the only girl developed enough to be with the MC, if you ask me), and the action isn't altogether that interesting either, though I'm sure some people will disagree. The humor turns weak, not to mention the latter volumes are MTL only. tl;dr don't put yourself through that. Let Mushoku Tensei end on good note, where he met his father, plans to join the search rescue operation (believe and it shall be so), and he and Eris marry and live happily ever after. The Supard guy returns to the beast village and happily makes a loli harem, while Rudeus popularizes that world's version of the hulk. Disclaimer: most of my tl;dr does not happen, so do not take it as a serious reason to read
I've read up into book 6 so I hit that point where Rudeus met his father. So I may put it aside if it doesn't get any better and start reading Sevens. Anyone else have an opinion on Mushoku Tensei?
I actually just finished reading Sevens the other day cause I just stopped reading it a while ago and saw it was finished so reread the whole thing. I am someone who avoids the harem genre like the plague but I love Sevens. Starts slow but moves steadily till things really pick up and the girls actually have personalities and aren't dropped in the background like a lot of chinese ones. Great story and you should totally give it a shot.
you can search some thread here on nuf for that~ quite vary on opinion~ there is translated part try search seven gaiden~ it those chap
