Science is advancing at fast pace. I read an article somewhere on the internet, if you alive after 30 years more chances are good that you will live for another thousand years. Maybe it just a bogus story. Maybe its not. Imagine if humanity somehow discover the secret of immortality, how do you think it change our way of life?
Infinite time to procrastinate. I will perfect the art of procrastination. Edit: Actually I'd probably procrastinate perfecting the art of procrastination. Wait, doesn't that mean I'm working on it? The paradox... Anyway, I'm not sure. I would probably spend more time learning tons of stuff since I love to learn new things. I'd work less toward a single goal and branch out more. I learned in college it's hard to get a degree and thus a good job if you keep taking random classes that interest you. But without the restraints brought about by time and societical needs I can pursue everything.
We would over populate the earth because the reason why cultivation worlds work is people die all the time and their worlds are much bigger than ours. Its the cause and effect thing. If we gain immortality (cause), we will have a huge impact on life itself such as having to feed ourselves, working, and environment(effect).
Lol we are half way there we discovered the motive why we are mortals now (we grow old bc our cells division) so yhea if we can find a way to slow it down or stop it with no bad effects then here is your immortality and is easier to say than do
Finding a place to live would probably be irritating. The tendency to dig decades into people's past for dirt is already around so you can't ever really do anything wrong. They'll probably raise the age of maturity eventually.
I doubt we will live an extra thousand years in 30 years. We can definitely increase lifespans, but at sometime we just end up breaking down everywhere. We as living creatures are pretty volatile..every day we live is a matter of probability. Things will break down somewhere, solutions will have consequences...we might double lifespan but 1000 is pushing it. PS lack of resources is not a problem...we can make things pretty efficient if there is a need. Boredom will be a problem
Surpopulation, Wars for ressources, bio wars, maybe expansion in the solar system, creation of independent government away from Earth. The whole can of worms that human bring in play normally.
If immortality means not needing to eat and still being fertile, it better give us the ability to survive in space, or we would run out of space. Imagine India's population crammed into Rhode Island.
The Earth would probably die since it's most annoying parasite just became eternal, there's only so many Natural Disasters it can produce at a time
WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR!!!!! Many people in same place, it's natural that will happen war for more space, resources and others.
Does this immortality come with a requirement that we must cough up blood and con help people with a bashful smile? I wouldn't want it if I had to listen to Ultimate Vexation as a prerequisite.
Easy, nobody would ever retire and nobody would be allowed to have children. In other words, hell on Earth. I'd probably suicide if immortality became a widespread thing.
