It is a known fact that a lot of CN webnovels being translated are banal, yet why do you read them? I'd like to know your opinions?

To begin with, I read xianxia even if it is repetitive as a substitute to moe SoL anime. I need something to relieve the hardships imposed upon me by the real world and moe anime girls is my medication. Unfortunately, half of the time my ISP is a piece of shit and I cannot access my waifus. Hence, webnovels are my cheaper subsitute to moe.

P.S. Fuck You @Qidian! I hope that nine generations of Yuewen get hit by Heavenly Tribulation,

I don't like western stories, so i tried Chinese ones and enjoyed them very much. This lead me to trying Korean novels and I also liked it. Then I tried Japanese novels and my brain almost melted.

They are cheap and easy to access, also there are a lot of them. Of course they do follow sturgeon's law so 90% of them are crap, but with nuf there is an easy review system.

I read for the martial arts and the world building most of the book in the USA are for old sexually deprived women or teen girls options here are slim. I find that CN novels have a lot to choose from

Good translation, not every novel online is good. Some of itis because of the author, but mostly because of the translator quality

Indeed, japanase novel is a piece of shit. Oh god.

So, Idk why I read novels, I've simplly liked this, and right now I'm reading. Also, I don't got read "normal" books. It's boring, then novels are a alternative to them, where I can to train my English, and learn a little more, and obviously kill the boredom. Serious, the most part of my free time I waste with the reading.

I like the action. It might be cliche and overdone as hell but I enjoy the fighting even if its repeated. it gets frustrating over time yes but I would choose Action with fights to the death over JP beta MC. I actually like korean MC in their novels too because they usually fight quite a bit.

It's kind of like junk, it's convenient and enjoyable at the moment, there might be better food but sometimes I'm lazy. Also there some pretty interesting CN novels that don't follow the sterotype for the CN web novel genre.

Because one thing or another led me to To LOVE-Ru's anime, then O got hooked on manga, watched more anime, read more manga, found a comment about Arifureta, started reading it, found Wuxia World, ignored it, found Novel Updates in a Google search at one point, ignored it, found Wuxia World again to read ahead of the manhuas, found some stories on Raising the Dead, found NU again, started reading more novels, and then I got hooked on all kinds of varieties of novels in all sorts of languages.

To summarize: dark descent and because boredom sucks.

And yes, I realize that was a run-on sentence but I just don't care.

I also hope one day with all this reading I'll suddenly gain enlightenment and transcend a mere mortal to begin my path on being an immortal.

well some people due to having read other types of genre and getting bored of it . . .
and then looking for some stories that are on the opposite type of what they usually read. . .
like always having sweet candies you crave for some salty things. . .
    when having vanilla. . . . .you look for NTR. . .
when having NTR you take it to another step and go's to bestiality. . .
and when one is deprive enough. . . . they went back to vanilla. . . .
but some do fall deeper and went to reality rampage. . . .
