I was browsing through what things to download on my phone, when suddenly I came across a thing which says "Finally an app for novels' lovers with more than 2000 books available" and when I looked at it's screenshots to see what the heck it is... It has novels like DE, ISSTH, even has the divided (WN) (LN) versions of "Aim the Deepest Part of the Different World Labyrinth" to which I could only think of NU... And all I could think is... "He is listing NU, WW, Gravity Tales, Baka Tsuki as sites where people can read stuff" & "Am I the only who thinks that 'direct donation to the translators & authors' over the app is a bit of unsafe idea?"
so far @Tony not released NU app despite there was member who raised such suggestion~ for donation better goes to translation site for safe~ if there site who have clear standing why goes to dubious one? money can raise troublesome thing~
In my hometown, there is an ancient and profound saying that relates to this. It goes: "Are you retarded? Of course it's unsafe. Seriously, how stupid are you? fucking obvious phishing attempt 0/10 go slam your head against a rock"
It sounds suspicious..... and familiar. Pretty sure someone mentioned the idea before. I don't think it's unsafe for you in term of financial transaction, but you should make sure that the donation actually goes to the translator. We all know the manga aggregator that pretend to give money to translator/author, when actually the money goes to the third party. Double the suspicious meter if they let you download/read through the app instead of redirecting to translator site.
there is no app which will really transfer the money to the translator, for now, here for us english readers. so just go to the translator site and that's it..
Ikr but then again, alot of things like scams and fake money transactions occur because people lack common sense or are too trusting/ naïve.
