    I am ok with small concise notes that are only their for clarity, but larger notes or commentary should be footnoted. For example, sometimes in a straight translation it is hard to determine who is speaking and I like it when the translator notes it.

    I love having relevant explanations immediately where they are appropriate rather than at the end where i may have forgotten the thing being explained depending. As far as unrelated comments or jokes go i don't really care, i find them easy to ignore if i don't want to read them.

    I like them. Sometimes i dont understand the situation and need a reference. But i love it more when we get tl/ed commentary on events. Its nice.

    Depends on immersion break it is. Generally I like to keep mine to being informative.

    No I don't hate notes but if they are really notes. I.e. at the end of the chapter so I can skip them if I'm not interested. However I usually don't like very much more or less humorous comments not related to the story, if they are in the midt of the text and there's no way I can skip them^^
