I've seen plenty of Novels where the MC calls the Heroine his wife despite not married yet? Also the other way around too and calls him her "Husband" Are they allowed to say that to each other? I know its the difference between cultures but I've always wondered about that

It makes them closer, and it does have a similar meaning to calling your lover "honey", "darling", "babe" etc. in English.

It's usually never in a formal context, right? I think it's because the one to say it already considers the other person 'theirs', as @KURONOKEI139 said.

Like, a lot of otaku have waifus, and call the anime/manga/novel girls their waifus. Not that they are married or anything (except for that guy who is married to asahina mikuru xD)

you don't need a flashy marriage to become husband and wife.
all it needs is to stay and live together with love.
If the so called husband left his wife becase it's dangerous (want to have better cultivation so he left his so called wife) than you can forget about what i said.

Pretty sure that in that specific culture it's pretty much the same, if the husband died she'd be seen as a bad omen and have to be a widow, you're pretty much already tied down.

Uh i mean a mcs fiance is basically already his wife so what's the problem with calling her that?
And i don't see how that has anything to do with culture, if i had a fiance i'd be calling her "wife" for fun as well, because why not?
