If you have no prior experience for any of the three, i suggest korean. Chinese and japanese both require you to memorize a lot of extra shit, whereas korean finally has an alphabet. That and you can bingewatch kdramas to hasten your studies painlessly
I think you should learn American, and then English, and then Canadian English. After that learn how to speak American with an Australian accent. But, if you want a serious opinion, Mandarin Chinese is a good one to pick up despite the difficulty since China is taking over the world. Learn both if you can though.
Learn Chinese, at least Mandarin. If not anything else, it has a lot of potential career opportunities. Speak Chinese, get an MBA in business, easy job acting as a liaison between companies and China.
I mean no insult whatsoever when I say this but it has to be said this way to get my point across. "That is one of the most retarded shit you can ask somebody." My point is, that is something for you to decide on your own, you should really not be guiding yourself by what people say when it comes to what you WANT to learn, it should be something you yourself have to want otherwise you will spend far more effort than you would had you decided on your own and really wanted it.
No clue what you will decide in the end. When I reflect of my choices I can only say that studying French for 3 years was wasted. Better would have been 1 year French, 1 year German, 1 year Spanish. That one year gives you an introduction to a language and you learn some common phrases. That´s all that will stick with you a couple of years later. School doesn't actually have the goal of teaching you the language to speak or read as a local.
As I'm reading through the posts. I have to agree on a few points. Such as- Chinese: 1. Business wise there are more Chinesses people then anyone else. 2. I believe Chinese would be easier to learn then Korean. 3. I also believe that there are more Chinese novels out there than Korean. Korean: 1. I believe they have better Mangas in Korean. 2. I also believe that they have better Anime. 3. Lastly I believe Korean entertainment is better than Chinese. Please be aware this only my opinion.
Chinese is very hard to go to from an English Speaking Background. Meanwhile I remember reading in my Korean History book that the Christian missionaries found Korean to be the easiest Asian language to translate the bible into. I'd go Korean! Meanwhile, tons of people can speak Spanish, plus they use the same alphabet system as we do. So its by far the easiest option if your getting graded on it
Lol Korean might be hard for Westerners but it's easy as hell for us Asian. I self learn it in one week and I was taking it easy. Don't be misunderstand though since it's only at enough-to-read level and a conversation with a real Korean is still beyond my capabilities.
well tbh learning languages in high school doesnt really help that much unless you go into like like language 4 or ap language and depends on what you want to do in the future i guess, if you think you are going to go to or work with a lot of people speaking spanish learn spanish, and vetc etc
I'm confused by this question. Mandarin is the spoken dialect, not the writing system. Hanzi is the writing system. The Chinese writing system and Chinese spoken dialects should be thought of as completely separate. In the case of raws, you only need to worry about whether they use Traditional Chinese or Simplified Chinese. The same words sound completely different when spoken in different dialects. If you want to read stories written in PRC or Singapore, they use Simplified. If you want to read stories written in Taiwan, Hong Kong or Malaysia, they use Traditional. But then again, stuff meant for international audience are usually written in Traditional.
Well it will really depends on your motivation and learning ability Also you should consider on which will be beneficial to you in the future not just for reading novels but for your daily life too. Imagine the building of the great paywall
