I'm confused about something....We know the mastermind tampered with Wen Ning and it led to the mc losing control and killing his sister hubby but the mastermind said that killing his brother wasnt his intention but an accident...in the end what did he want to happen to his brother? (unless i got it all wrong...in this case mtl sucks )
The only thing the mastermind did was tell the sister's hubby what was happening so that the hubby would go to where MC and hubby's cousin were. If he hadn't told the hubby, hubby might not have died that day. The hubby had gotten too close to the MC who never really like him and Wen Ning instinctual acted based upon the MC'S emotions so the next thing u knew, Wen Ning's arm was going thru the hubby's chest. MC lost it after that and a bloodbath ensued as he had every other person present there die.
When they were young, the husband really looked down on MC's sister and was vocal about not wanting to marry her, saying how she wasn't good enough for him, etc. MC adores his sister and thinks she only deserves the best, so obviously he doesn't think someone like that is good enough for her. The husband was pretty much your typical bratty, arrogant young master when he was young, so it's no surprise that MC hated his guts. (Also I think he was higher than MC in the 'hottest guy ranking' thing they had, and MC was kind of bitter about that too lol)

If you're talking about the fight that got MC kicked out from the school, yeah, that escalated b/c MC's sister was insulted. It also led to the engagement getting broken. MC wasn't invited to the wedding b/c at that time, he was "kicked out" of the clan. In order to keep up the act, they couldn't invite MC, so that's why his sister could only secretly visit him to show him her wedding dress.

MC's sister had always been in love with the husband even after the engagement was broken. During the war, she secretly sent him delicious soup, but another girl saw her and took advantage of her doing this anonymously and claimed the credit. Later, the husband caught her in the middle of delivering soup but didn't believe her words, thinking she was sneaking around and spying b/c he thought the other girl was the soup giver. MC came upon this, and seeing how his sister was crying, immediately flew into a rage. Of course, the truth came out later, and it was at that point that the husband's feelings started to change, and after the war ended, he pursued after her and asked for her hand in marriage. Yes, the Lan clan's school. After MC decided to shield the remaining Wen clan and becoming public enemy #1, he didn't want to drag Jiang Cheng and the rest of the clan down with him, so he voluntarily chose to cut himself off. He and Jiang Cheng staged a huge "falling out" fight, and Jiang Cheng then announced to the world how MC's been kicked out and would have nothing to with their clan from now on. So in reality, it wasn't until MC's sister died that MC and Jiang Cheng truly had their real falling out, though everyone else believed they'd hated each other for years already.
