The main difference is the pronunciation of the two not to mention the differences between the two Portuguese dialects and the various different Spanish dialects. Same with Italian, French and Romania since all 5 are sister languages.
if you like give me a ring i'll record me reading it to you in my soothing singaporean-australian accent
as a spanish speaker, portuguese sounds like what a drunk hispanic sounds like, like, change a few letters here and there and bam, its now spanish
jajajjjjaa demás xD y eso q no has probado tecito de flores de floripondio? dicen q esas weas sí q son fuertes xD coughcough anyway, back on topic, I've never really liked English. and I don't really like Portuguese either xD so we are even, OP. i think of Portuguese the same you think of spanish. but english is useful so meh, self-taught myself what they didn't teach me at school by reading manga and foruming at places like this :c I Don't like german, but I do like French and learned a bit at university. about CJK, i honestly wouldn't even have bothered trying learning some Japanese if I wasn't otaku. but as things stand, I came to like the thing xD just hate kanjis to death-de gozaru. however, I don't like Chinese nor Korean. their intonations are a bit too odd for me.
Hahahah so many posts i'd like to reply or comment on. Let me start off by saying i love spanish and to me it's more romantic than the so acclaimed french. No this is coming from someone who can speak both spanish and portugues (tho i learned brazilian ver.) and can read french. Now I also like hispanic people ( mostly have experience with latin americans) qua culture they are alike with my own culture and they have this friendly and warm feel to them compared to most european cultures. Further i'd like to mention that spanish is the second language i learned and that i enjoy and have a knack for languages. Finally people please replace "hate" with "dislike/ annoyed by" since it is such a heavy term that most people tend to use lightly, there is a huge difference emotional wise between dislike and hate.
Now Arabic sounds beautiful in my opinion. But not the butchering you hear these days. I'm talking about quranic arabic. It's just so melodious
