I support translators on WW, but I'm not ignorant at all. It's not just about QI. If I think any TL'er is scandalous I'll call them out in a heartbeat.

 

What in tarnation do you mean bring us to new heights? Do you mean making translations a payed good?

The whole reason this community exists is because of people like Ren who decided that they would translate. Professional translators can make a lot more than what QI and WW pay their translators which is why you hardly see pros doing novel translations. The translations for most the translators are hobbies and a lot of them have decided on careers already. Also, if Qidian is paying the translators then it counts as an actual job, not a hobby. A job and a hobby are two different things. You may no longer start to enjoy translations if it becomes a job.

Also, it's called a sense of loyalty, if we didn't have ren, we wouldn't have a lot of translators who were inspired to do so. The community was doing just fine until @Qidian decided that the novel translation community could become a place of profit, albeit very small. If it wasn't for people like ren, the novel translation community would not have become famous enough to be noticed by companies such as Qidian.

At first i thought op is a troll, but after taking a look at the creation time of the account and all his posts since that it's pretty obvious who he is working for.

Well, I mean reading is a pretty important part of life to some people. The people who care LOVE reading. And seeing a company who is just destroying something they love is pretty infuriating. Wouldn't you want to defend something you love? I see nothing wrong in WW fans fighting for what they love. If you do not care for any of that, stop being an asshole. Grow up.

And, that person probably replied right after reading the OP. Calling him an idiot right away seems like a dick move. You should think about different scenarios in your head when someone does something against common sense (Well, that's what I do when I see an extremely stupid thing). But don't outright call someone a brain-dead fanboy for such a small mistake compared to what the OP is saying. Now that is something really fucking stupid.

this is another example of qidian thinking so little of the community. the OP was obviusly hired by qidian even the account he used on reddit to post this thread to novel translation is a mod for a qidian centered sub. this is just more propaganda to sway the community and its getting seriusly annoying that the mods arent doing anything about it.

I don't actually have much to add to this quote itself, because you said it for me. I can't speak about what happened earlier in the year, either...as I've only been using NU for a few months now (wish I'd started using it earlier, though~). This current situation is definitely a load of horsecrap, though.
