    Technically, I learnt Chinese but English was the first language (and only language) I'm fluent at

    Just read story by arcs, and not by updates. With this, you won't frustrated yourself with cliffhangers.
    I read mtl though.

    I refuse. Most the times going the mtl route is a waste of time. I might as well just find something else to read while I wait for the next chapter~

    does it matters? The MC is gonna save the day anyway....

    Real cliffhangers is when you read the latest chapters of a novel (atg) in lnmtl. Find out it has a cliffhanger too. Surpisingly, the chapter after that has a cliffhanger too. Even more surprisingly, the chapter after that has a cliffhanger too. You waste your time. For minutes, hours, days and it never stops. Again and again. Finally, you can longer tolerate it. You throw your lappy and hang yourself with a rope.....

    This happens everyday.

    Im confused... the thread title says how not to rid yourself of cliffhangers but its content says to mtl so you can avoid cliffhangers...
    Am I taking this the wrong way or is the title just wrong?

    some novels are just too long and we lose interest with time, the later half of most novels are kinda disappointing, so if we dont read in one go, it will become like my reading list, having more than a hundrend novels to read someday, like those books or magazines
    that you have thrown in some place and will never read it again.

    Now there is Qidian too, somehow I lost the interest to read all the novels that they took in, I know this doesnt make sense, but this is how it is.

    So I did like OP said, jumped off the cliff into the unknowed.
    I may have lost some details, but its kinda fun every paragraph or so solving a puzzle.

    how to not rid yourself of cliffhanger? Is this some masochism thing? If you are that desperate of getting cliffhangered then read until you get to the climax then stop.

    Worst is MTL reading a whole story, your eyes bleeding, thinking 'It's ok, the ending is not far away. As long as I can read the ending, it'll have been worth it!' and then finishing the last chapter on a cliffhanger and realizing the ending hasn't been written yet. :notlikeblob:

    Because now, not only are you on a cliff that you can't MTL your way out of, on top of that, trying to keep MTL plots in long term memory is hard. Meaning.... you'll have to re-read. :blobwoah:
