Considering that DB is talking to Er gen while TLing...I think it is safe.

 

Why would Qidian hire another translator for this novel and pay him money when they can do what they are already doing, which is stealing the chapters.

 

Yeah also apparently Qidian only has publishing rights for Er Gen's novels and not the rights to the work itself like many others.

Seems like they'll just do their "dual host" for now.

Um. By rehosting i assume you mean copy pasting from wuxiaworld to their site, unless the translators of the novels allow that then if thats what they are doing then its technically illegal.
Also thats not what my point was,
Op said qidan is targetting it (aka they want to translate it)
But its already picked up by wuxiaworld who has contacts with the author of the novel so qidan cant do shit.
Legal wise to translate you need permission from the author, which wuxia has but qidan wont get.
So unless wuxia drops it qidan cant get their slimey hands on it.

 

You havent been on NUF the past few weeks right?Qidian just started copy pasting wuxiaworld translations on their site illegaly saying its for the community.They dont care if its legal or not.

 

no no they HAVE to care if its illegal or not as they are a real company.
from what ive gathered qidan seems to have some form of rights to the novels, but wuxia got the authors to let them translate.
so it ended up in a situation where both have legal rights so qidan did the fucked up thing of stealing translations and posting them on their websites.
you also gotta realise this cant be taken to court as both have legal rights to the material and as a text based translation they can always deny that they didnt steal it but their translators did it.

Either reread from the start since it's being retranslated completely and get used to new names etc or just wait for a few weeks to a month or two , DB would catch it up soon

 

If memory serves.. I don't Think QI has the rights to this latest Er Gen boom.

 

*pat pat pat* Just read other things and wait until the translation catches up to where it was in the past, it shouldn't hurt much.

 

Er Gen is a contract author for Qidian, so they probably do have the rights.

 

Not necessarily true since big name authors start to dictate to them what they can and can't have. AWE is a novel that is held by Er Gen and not Qidian. Qidian has publishing rights in China for it. They do not hold the copyright.

 

Is this true? Does WW deal with QI (the 20 titles) include AWE? Does WW get the right from Er Gen?

If it true, then QI have no right to "sell" AWE to WW nor they have the right to publish (unless QI also gain the right from Er Gen)

 

I don't believe AWE is part of the 20 or it was lumped in with the 20 because Er Gen has been a part of China Reading/Qidian. As far as I am aware WW RWX and Deathblade have been in contact with Dr Gen and have his blessing with AWE.

 

I asked Ren this question ages ago in another thread about AWE.
