I've been hearing about ISSTH and Warlock in Magus World other Chinese novels, but haven't been able to get into them. What do you enjoy in them? Am I just not reading it as I should?
Everybody has different tastes. I couldnt get into either of them. They appeared to be boring once i was halfway through them.
yep i stopped reading issth after 100 chapter. but i read all other chinese novels. its all about preference
Most people start loving issth after reading 180 chapters. Most people find the earlier chapters of issth boring
It's just a preference. Have confidence in your own feelings. Nothing is wrong with you for not liking certain books. Likewise, nothing is necessarily wrong with certain books just because you don't like them. Opinions are subjective. Too often, people try to reason away their feelings as facts. It's not a fact, so you welcome to have that opinion.
issth and warlock has very slow and boring starts its normal that you lose interest you should drop them
Either taste and or mood. There was a time when I was all up into the dark evil edgy Seinen stuff. Then immediately after that I was reading Shoujo stuff because I felt like it. So yea mood swings man. You don't know when it's gonna make you read some crazy shit
Look, about chinese novels, its quite normal to drop them half-way through, as they are not only friking long, also quite tiresome to read with all the side enemies. But beware, as i bring you a frikking long novel that its NOT tiresome to read The Legendary Moonlight Sculptor
I wouldn't dismiss ALL chinese novels because you happened to dislike xianxia, xuanhuan or any other "chinese genre". There are all sorts of chinese novels after all.
I had a seinen phase too. But after a while, I started feeling like mangaka were always trying to be edgy. It went from cool by itself to feeling pretentious to me. A guy gets his head cut off and somehow the whole room, all four walls, are covered in blood. Riiight. I still like it, just no longer love it. But you have people who swear by the seinen demographic.
Nah, i dont really like both novels too... but actually issth pretty good after the beginning until middle when the mc become an asshole after meeting his parents. Wmw on other hand has a coward evil mc which probably fits as the antagonist in other novels...
There is nothing wrong with that. As others have said its all about taste. That said there are all kind of CN novels, how about going with something different than those like: Release that Witch The Amber Sword The Strategy to Become Good at Magic Still Chinese but different style
Every entertainment field Has A group/country that dominate it. Movies - Hollywood (America) Animation - Anime (Japan) Drama - KDrama (South Korea) Novels - Chinese Novel
Nah don't worry about it. They aren't really different from other novels on NU. You only hear about it because it's updated more then the rest. ISSTH is probably the only completed CN thats translated and fully satisfying. As for which one to read first depends on your taste. Issth: MC is a trickster and intelligent Warlock: Just cold, extremely evil MC I hope I was able to help
ISSTH and WMW both are slow paced in the beginning. Why don't you try something faster paced with quick level ups, a.k.a typical xianxia ?
Since when is a typical xianxia fast paced? Last I checked most of them spend chapters simply discussing one punch.
it is like enjoying trash food, you know they are bad and most of the time the taste is so so, but you still eat them (even from time to time)
The impression I seem to have of most xianxia is : Ch 1 - MC gets cheat. Ch 3 - MC beats bully. Ch 4-6 - MC beats bully's elder brother/cousin/boss. Ch 10 - MC participates in tournament and wins it by Ch 20 ... and so on.
