There was a guy trying to rob a supermarket(?) holding a child hostage and he also had a bomb. Something silly happened and the bomb exploded.

Also, in Ascendance of a Bookworm, there's an Earthquake in Japan and the female MC dies being crushed by her beloved books (death by bookshelf-san, or is it earthquake-san?).

A lot of female MC transmigration novels start with the MC getting betrayed and murdered by her assistant/coworkers. That's the danger of being an assasin/forensic scientist/special detective/genius doctor .

Edit: I forgot the name of the novel (it's something fairly popular?) but the male MC gets kicked in the butt by an immortal/celestial/cultivator - literally gets kicked into another world...

I made up a funny one for a science fantasy plot I created.

MC gets vented out of a spaceship because of a malfunctioning airlock. But he's wearing his high-tech battle suit so he is fine. Then he gets hit by a space truck. He's still fine though, he was wearing his suit.

Unfortunately, his suit's AI was attempting to calculate a short range teleport back onto the ship when the space truck hit the poor guy. Due to the percussive maintenance, the teleport sends him backwards in time, instead of elsewhere in space.

Now he is floating alone in space, in the past, with a very unhappy AI.

Thanks to the power of plot though, he happens to be hurtling towards a discounted fantasy Earth. Good thing he has that battle suit, it is designed for orbital descent too.
