Discussion Japanese vs Chinese vs Korean Novel

(in General) Truthfully although Japanese and Chinese novels have tons of great stuff, I just feel that there is less annoying stuff in Korean novels. I mean I really dont like how almost every female falls in love with the mc. Where in Japanese novels the mc feels stupid, where in chinese novels they feel like arrogant kings of the world. I feel that the mc and the story of koreans are believable while the others feel like 2 dimensional. What do you guys think? This is just an opinion of mine, no hate only love haha

Korean novels are probably the best in terms of quality of plot and characterisation in general but Chinese novels I feel have their badass elements to them.
Japanese novels often have a unique sense of voice with the character.

My favourite are probably Chinese novels, then Korean, then Japanese simply because of how masochistic Japanese mc's tend to be. Korean novels often are boring to me too.

You haven't read enough to know all the tropes man. Go ahead and read more korean manwha and watch the same tropes fly about the same as the novels.

 

I know exactly what you mean. We need more Korean novels. Maybe it's because there are very few of them being translated, but the overall quality is much better than the Chinese or Japanese ones

 

Depends on the author and what is being translated. There are equally good novels in all languages and hordes of crap in all of them as well.

 

The only good KR novels are LMS and ARK..JP and CN top others

 

From the best to the worst. If you count it from the top, then JP would win. If you start from the bottom, then CN would win. There's no place for KR novels.

Not really. There's only scarce translated KN so there's nothing much to judge yet. Btw I prefer JN>xianxia. I don't say CN.

There is a reason for this.
When the community only had JP novel, everyone said it was gold but that is because TLs tend to pick the top series. Then new TLs then ran out of top novels to pick and they picked some mediocre novels with cliches.
The CN novels came in and the loop repeats again. Trust me. In another few years time, you won't feel the same about it anymore

 

The translation pool isn't big enough to come to any conclusions.
CN have mainly xianxia, wuxia translated while JP have harems, loli and reincarnated into another world.
Korean doesn't have enough translations to set a stereotype.
