Recommendations Novels with Intelligent Male-MC

G'day everyone! I am looking for some Novels that have a Intelligent/Scheming Male-MC, preferably Anti-Hero. Also the MC should preferably be Human. I don't care about the type of Novel, be it JP, CH, US or any other as long it fulfills some criteria.

The Novel should have more of a dark-ish theme with sub characters that aren't forgotten later in the story (like mostly in CH novels). Romance is nice to have but not needed.

Some examples of the types of MC's I like:

Gu Daoist Master Ruthless/Evil? MC.
The Charm of Soul Pets A bit dark. MC's kinda cold.
Pursuit of the Truth Kinda dark... some sad/brutal moments... MC's smart and sometimes acts cold.

I second Star Rank Hunter and Otherworldly Evil Monarch.

 

Is it really dark though? Most of the time it isn't, in my opinion. I agree that Zuo Mo is pretty calculating though (ge wants his jingshi and benefits), so I guess it fits that part of the criteria. It's a really awesome novel, so props to you for recommending.

Rakuin no Monshou - Looks interesting.

Isekai Mahou wa Okureteru! ( WN ) ( LN ) - I don't like the MC and the sub characters at the beginning are even worse. Feels like the usual JP novel.

Gate – Jietai Kare no Chi nite, Kaku Tatakeri - Watched the Anime, not sure how different the Novel is but I will probably read other Novels first.

Log Horizon - Not sure about this one yet.

Maybe I will give it a try but it doesn't sound as interesting as some of the other CH novels that were recommended.

I don't like the MC, too perverse.

Loved Vol 1, Vol 2 was ok, dropped it halfway through Vol 3.

Not sure about this one yet.

They are novels. Devil's Spice is a novel on Baka-Tsuki. Phi Brain is licensed, but you might be able to find it floating on the internet. Shion no Ou is an old novel.

Sorry about that, I have been trying to find them on Novel Updates but didn't see anything. Devil's Spice seems interesting though, the other 2 not so much.

Both don't have many Chapters so I will wait, though it seems the translations for Tower of Karma have dropped.

 

Tsuki ga Michibiku Isekai Douchuu - the very definition of anti-hero. The goddess hates him

 

The MC seems like one that I wouldn't like. He's dense and I can't consider him as Intelligent or as a Schemer. Try to compare him to the MC's I listed above and you know what I mean.

 

Aw, World of Cultivation's one of my favorites and History's Strongest Senior Brother is a decent read. Glad you like some of the novels I recommended!
