guys my monitor is dying on me and i have around 80-100$ for a new monitor. Im looking at 2 monitors an aoc ips 22 inch i2280 monitor or a 22imch benq 2270h. Both are 1080p ready and good enough 5ms response time at 60hz refresh rate. But one is an ips panel while the other is VA And aoc with only dvi/vga while benq is 2xhdmi and 1 vga. My gpu is palit dual fan oc 1050ti I have read some online but its divided some say ips is better than va while other believe that VA is better at gaming due to contrast. Any help is appreciated.
depends on your room lighting va has better contrast but its better for less lighting rooms ips is for fairly good lighting rooms
I can only share my own experience, Benq will self destruct 1-2 months after the warranty is up. Avoid that brand.
IPS: Best all-rounder for colours and viewing angles; there are some very high-refresh-rate panels coming onto the market VA: Poorer response times than IPS and TN, but very deep blacks and great viewing angles TN: The fastest, but normally with poorer viewing angles but higher refresh rates Taken from a website
eitherway is okay, whats important is 1. the response time and 2. refresh rate va is alright, most va are ultrawide and curvy, which is cool but its also expensive, which incase you could not afford, youd end up with ips ps im not sure about the hdr, if that va got hdr too hdr are for aesthetic people that wants to see their images beautiful edit: va have some models with fast response and high refresh rate, but like i said, its expensive also go ips, try to stay away from tn, unless you are broke
