    I've been reading The Avalon of Five Elements lately,
    and I have to say I was quite disappointed when the author just suddenly stuffed powerups into the MC's mouth..... twice.... thrice idfk.

    Partly my fault for getting my hopes up. Like, I was expecting him to not be the strongest because we have all these rich young masters around as rivals. Or maybe at least get to their level using his ingenious training methods. Nope. Author uses deus ex powerup card multiple times.

    And because of that, I'm here rn asking for xianxia that has an MC that isn't some walking miracle. Like, he reaches the peak slowly but surely. He isn't some heaven defying talent or something.

    Edit: right, MC from A Will Eternal isn't the strongest, he doesn't even fight properly XD

    I always recommend A Record of a Mortal's Journey to Immortality and Demon’s Diary for being very mild with their deus ex machina

    MC is actually heaven defying later on tho but yeah, this one is good.
    Translations seems to have stopped tho. Imma pick it up when it starts getting translated again.

    Not really the kind of not OP MC I was looking for tho. Maybe like, he's talented, but he just can't get ahead of these top geniuses. Not sure how this one plays out, but probably not what I'm looking for.

    ISSTH is pretty good, I wish I could have amnesia and forget it so I can read it again.

    I guess I'll try Demon's Diary out. Seems to have a high rating at least, should be decent.
    I dropped this after reaching the latest chapter a year ago back when I just started reading webnovels, and now I don't know how to pick it back up again :'(
    Both of them aren't xianxia tho... But yeah, these two were good.

    Ai Hui was never the strongest in the group. Shi Xueman is.

    people praise him for his leadership, quick wittedness and resoluteness but not so much in terms of strength or combat (other than incidents of lightning blade).

    From where I'm at, c210, altho I know Shi Xueman is the strongest, she keeps on getting saved/depends on the Ai Hu, not to mention she keeps on getting shocked by him. Her presence is kinda lacking tbh. It did also say tho that she's more suitable in leading

    You also can't really put them in the same category because Shi Xueman is graduating while Ai Hu is still a freshman.
