If you dig deeper in Egyptian history of pharos and the many gods that they believed in, you will find a huge trove of novel gems that would be extremely interesting... Opinions?
Hopefully some authors would see this

I agree there is lots of Egyptian history manga, even Yu-Gi-Oh knew the potential in it from the very start.
Also here is an extra candy for the eyes :

Well, I Magi takes influence from some egyptian lore.

I think i’d be hard though cause egyptian lore is so broad

It's 4-8 thousand years of history, chances are something noteworthy happened in that time

    Star Gate?
But I agree, there are a lot of mythologies with tons of potential, various tribal religions for example or the roman-christian conflict (Lucifer would make an awesome hero), the Egyptians have a lot of potential due to the longevity of their culture. Babylonian has potential as well

I think the last egyptian mythology movie was a grand fail so I don t think many will follow it for now.

Agreed. While I did enjoy reading the novels when they first came out, I'm still angry over it's rushed non-ending. And having learned more about Egyptian myths over the subsequent years, the minor inaccuracies that exist for the sake of the story really bother me now... But yeah, if done right, we could get something really good out of a novel based on Egyptian mythological characters.

Dude. Ancient Egyptian sex practices make Japanese look like prudes. The different words we have now for concepts like 'sister', 'wife', 'concubine', and 'niece' all used the same word back then.

About the only place Japanese beat Egyptians is in sex toys, and that's more a reflection on available technology. (God bless teledildonics! : D )

I don't disagree but the movie didn't fail due to the origin of the story but due to poor story and lack of Egyptian actors... It was too superficial

Honestly I just want more tanned/dark skin that's not dark elves.

Sick of seeing "jade skin" or "skin like snow".

    Well....

It's true that the egyptian mythology have a lot of potential but in the other hand the same thing goes for Babylonian greek hindu and japanese mythology. there is probably a lot more myths that have potential too.

It's really depends on the author and the story he wants we see a lot of japanese mythology novels but hardly any of them are good despite that the myths are really awesome.

For some reason most of the authors like to create their own world with their own myths so... yeah...
