When I first moved in with one of my roommates, she liked to cook chicken with a rice cooker. Like..... straight raw chicken.

I didn’t even know you could do that.

You can make congee. Take the cooked rice and add it to water or soup (chicken stock works well) then cook it in a pot. You can also add chicken, corn, scallions, etc.

Nidome no Jinsei wo Isekai de chapter 67 "There was even a song about the condition of the fire going something like “The fire begins to burn weakly while going poof poof”* in my previous world, but if you change it into numbers, it’s 5 minutes on low fire, 5 minutes on a medium flame, 5 minutes on a strong flame, 10 minutes with a low flame and lastly steaming it for 10 minutes. The total cooking takes 35 minutes. "
But why exactly would you buy a rice cooker? I only need a stove, a pot and water. If you'd want you could also buy an old DDR washing machine/dryer which you can fill with water and boil your sausages, it fits rice cooker cooked rice perfectly.

Actually, if you just add more liquid when cooking the rice it turns into porridge. Use stock add chicken, sweet corn and soy sauce, porridge becomes congee.

Boil it normally, fry it after the rice is cooked, one cup and a lot of water to make congee, making riceballs
If you want to, you could use the rice water from washing the rice to water some plants or even wash your hair with it(keeps you hair black even at 50),face wash etc
    If you like cooking anime:
