I personally had no problem naming characters for my novel. I just pick whatever sounds good and that is pretty much it... I've never regretted a name so far...

    And what nuffie character count?

Most people on RRL either go by CN/JP names or European based ones

A post must have a certain number of characters to earn nuffies(Forum cash) for it

Most miss the point that the video is funny
No one here has a sense of humor? :blobsad:

That number is 50 characters. So as long as you have that you get the nuffie prize... You can easily artificially lengthen sentences and use things like ... to add length.

Usually for fantasy and worlds where the name can be exotic I go for anagrams (that gives infos and stuff I can put in the script about the character), in worlds with more normal names I hit the phone book with a pen until I find an interresting mix of first name and surname, but I usually like to go for as normal as it can get names for bad guys in these kind of worlds :blobowoevil: ...

Posts with links need 200 characters.

I think thread creating posts ignore that rule though, I think they always give 25nu£.

Well, for my stories, since most of them speak with fictional language, they also named themselves with fictional naming convention.

For the RL characters, I just pick a name with meanings. After all, depending on the language, most of the names are meaningful words. And sometimes, the name can be twisted to gave the name some meaning.

For example: I might name a character Reiy Rannee. But if you write it in Katakana you could get a different interpretation of her name:
"heavenly flowers" or "royal child" from Hawaiian lei "flowers, lei, child" and lani "heaven, sky, royal, majesty".

Or a character named: Aezakmir Heso'yam. GTA-SA players might recognize it. Since the character is seemingly invisible and immortal (he is not, he is cheating)
Or a character named: Rierali Shitutodus. A mishmash of Naturalis Historia and Thucydides and Herodotus. Since the character is a historian and chronicler (she write encyclopedias too).

So, read many things and you might find new inspiration for your character names.

I usually name my character based on their story/setting/origin/meaning. ^^

But there's a ton of characters i drew/created that dont have stories and currently unnamed or i just call them the intended role that they play as a placeholder like MC lol xD

But lately i just pick names i like and do a poll with my watchers/followers asking them to choose for me, because sometimes I can't choose between names i like, and my watchers see my characters so they might like them more if they're involved? Lol
