Sure if it's interesting enough. There's a lot of manga and novel that I read but never reach the ending anyway.

for me basically it depends on number of chapter available. For KR and JP at least 80 chapters and CN 200-300 chapters

As much as I don't like reading a story that won't be finished, I might read such a story (provided it's good enough).

Even if it's completely uncontinuable, provided it can easily list as my top 3 (which is practically impossible), I might go as far as to continue it on my own...
I can write stories, but I like writing my own. Not much time on hand, so nowadays I can't even write my own...
But if all requirements are met, why the heck not?

Nooooooooo! Never! If I know a story won't have an ending or has one of those bs "technically ended but never resolved the plot" endings then I would definitely never, ever read it. :notlikeblob: Damn it, just the thought of this triggered me!

Nope, and i also feel sad knowing a translator is wasting time on a novel without an ending, an ending can ruin an otherwise decent novel (Wasting time is ofcourse my opinion)

I almost never read books for their endings, so not having one is just a minor problem. This is especially true of Japanese web novels where I expect to lose my interest by the time I get to 100 chapters. If a book has a good ending, then that's a big bonus, but it's no biggee even if it doesn't exist.

I feel like webnovels are generic enough that I could easily find a good book with a complete ending, rather than settle for a good book without an ending.

    Maybe.
If it's episodic (slice of life or each arc can be taken independently) then definitely I would - I guess an example would be To Aru Majutsu No Index since most of its novels are pretty well self-contained. If it has a storyline but I'd read it for the plot instead ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) I'm also okay with an incomplete novel (Like Dragon Blood Warrior).
Otherwise, if I knew that it wouldn't have an ending or the ending would be absolutely terrible, that might kill my motivation to read it... but how often do you know how a novel will end before you read it?

    Depends on the situation:
    1. It is dropped by the author in the raws (mad snailed)
Well, I cannot read raws so I don’t know whether it was drop by the author or not. Anyway, the point is I will read it if it’s really good.

    2. Have too many chapters with slow translation. 6000 chapters ongoing but get translated 2 chapters per week.
Good grief. I will place it in my reading list but it’s as good as drop.

    3. The translator is in hiatus for more than a year already without anyone picking it up.
    Rotting in my hiatus list.

    4. Theres a very expensive pay wall if you want to read it. You cant find any pirated goods anywhere.
Nope. It’s an absolute no. I am a cheap person, super cheap. You cannot find me paying to read a novel. I better off reading something else at no cost even if it is trash.

    5. The source is licensed at book 12 out of 30 book volumes and the publisher release its translated book at the pace of 1 book per year. (Yen pressed)
Makes no difference cause somewhere in the plot will trigger me to drop it. It is no wonder half of what I read end up in my dropped list.

    6. The translator is shut down by the publisher but refused to become their slave.. and the series becomes translatorless but cant be picked up. (Qidianed)
    Savage!

    7. Axed ending by the author out of nowhere. Ended within 1 chapter at the middle of a huge arc.
Um, I don’t know. Perhaps I will keep reading if it is interesting.

    8. The author died
So what? I can finally claim to completed the novel. *patting myself on the back*

    RIP.

Hmmmmmm... As long as there is some chance of it ending, I don't mind it.

I don't feel like reading it if the author dropped it or died though.

Probably, depending on the type of genre and how long the story is. I would probably not read if it was something like 1000 chaps but wont have an ending, even if it was really good.
