In the flash back of DB in DB super goku sounds exactly like luffy in the dub. Seriously did they get lazy or something? Why not dig up some DB audio? why did they have luffy's voice actor give him that voice with no change at all? Its just so awkward if you watched alot of dubbed one piece and original dragon ball!
Nobody watches dubbed anime coz it sounds weird. It falls on weird fetish category just by listening to it already.
Theyre recycling the dubbers for many other anime.. less of a bother to do it, and it gets the job done anyway..
I understand that it has its weak points. But I still like goku's english voice better. Also if your statement was correct there wouldnt be any dubed anime if no one watched it....
U should be grateful the dub goku voice isnt like the japanese one... i dunno how the people can watch the sub with that voice..
No!! No one watches it. They only make it coz they have weird fetish. No, no, and more NO! FETIIIISSSHHHHHH!!!!
they r called voice actors u know...even Colonel Mustang's Seiyuu is the villain of Antimagic Academy Ootori Sougetsu....
I guess but funimation also had the rights to DB and its a very popular series so a little effort for consistence in this case would have been appreciated. I mean its two of there biggest anime they have. Its got to be annoying to quite a few people listening.
i hated dubs when i found out they made a wierd ass intro of one piece in toonami that made me want to puke....yuck..
you really hate dubs! I think its just nice to have watch something in my native language. Just the Japanese make such good animation.
Umu. Its like the character is the voice actor at that point. Its different from a voice actor of one character gets a new gig in another anime. Like Robert downy Jr. IS iron man. No1 would accept any other actor as iron man at that point. Growing up to the dubbed DBZ when I watched the new anime remakes I cringed at how squeaky goku's voice was lol. Doesn't sound like the savior of the universe, but a teenager yelling at his parents when he starts powering up. So dubs do work out sometimes. Most of the time tho, sounds bad. Most Blu-ray animes I buy I watch it subbed, like steins;gate and neon genesis.
Every voice works well if its your first time hearing it in said characters. But once that voice is solidified within the image of said character, hearing any other voice after that in that character will ruin your image of it. There are people thats already used to those squeeky voice of goku tho.. And vice versa.
Some voice actors are so good they can sound different when playing different roles Others not so much It was also frustrating watching Christian Bale be in Batman, Transformers and Terminator at the same time but we live with it. It is part of life, also you might not get enough available voice actors in the west compared to Japan where they are treated as celebrities and become superstars making the career path highly sought over and competitive but then again due to nepotism some people only cast their friends
I watch DBS dubbed and subbed. Plenty of Japanese voice actors/actresses get re-used but I don't see that argument as often as the dubbed VA being recycled.
