Many of CN cultivator can fly when they cultivate till some point. And some of the MC is from the modern world (via reincarnate indeed) and why there's no flying technique developed like Backflip, Knife Edge, Barrell roll? It is thousands of year and there's no single damn technique.

Because you can't impress cultivator chicks with a barrell roll since they can do the same. But if you got skills to go really fast beyond your cultivation level, now that might lead to something something going on.

There is a technique called upskirt peek when female cultivators fly-by. Or should it be uprobe...?

I guess it's bcoz they walk on air rather than fly.

You don't pull those kind of stunts while walking, do you?
And cultivators being dumb, it might not even occur to them that walking on land is different than walking on air, aka flying.

Moreover, it's not very dignified, and cultivators attach great importance to demeanour/face-saving.

Besides, air resistance/drag and streamlining doesn't have much effect (apparently) in cultivation worlds.

maybe because it has no practical use, and when they tried their enemies exploited it to kill them. so it would never spread on

There's plenty of flying techniques, such as the flying-backward-like-a-kite-with-its-string-cut technique. Mostly used by the MC's enemies :cookie:

I'm so nice for actually answering you seriously...

the thing is... there is no difference, those acrobacies would only slow the someone down if he is flying for his life, and if fighting, he cant dodge spells, techniques, skills cause they are locked at him, you can think of it as auto guided missiles, while the one who casted/used the skill is conscious, the target can only receive it head on, use skills to weaken or destroy it... the only way to "dodge", is using teleport (doesnt aways work) or the clone technique, I have seen/read about ppl only using these too, but it too can be seen through and may be useless, so most time the mc just meets it head on.

Well in normal cultivating CN novel, the skills are all about speed, attack, defensive power. Why should you use high evasion low cost build when you can just tank and spam potions?

Also taking a hit and not even flinching sounds much cooler than rolling around dodging incoming attacks right?

Anyway I think it focuses more on techniques in a more modern, lower power world setting, such as Card Disciple, not some novels that have no level cap.
