Recommendations Main character that knows he is a main character and uses that knowledge to his advantage

I'm looking for a story where the main character realizes that he is surrounded by story tropes, and uses this knowledge to his advantage.
For example, he could be talking to someone who makes an ominous comment that most characters would ignore, but he knows that that is a trope, so he digs and finds out a part of the conflict early, letting him be more prepared.
Or, it could be an evil guy that has read the evil overlords list, and follows it, allowing him to defeat every hero.
Basically, if the main character in a cliche story read tv tropes, and uses the information well

I dont know what you mean but if you havent read this "The legendary Moonlight Scultur" Its more or less what you say, he doesnt know everything, but every decision he makes is well thought and meditated and reacts to waht he knows at that moment.

I'm not sure you will find something where the MC is the protagonist of a story AND has knowledges of what will happen. Either he has some knowledges but is initially an antagonist or side character or he's the protagonist but has no knowledge about it. (If both criteria were satisfied, you would just have an easy way toward an OP MC with an happy ending, it would be quite short)

However, if you mean that the MC has some powers and knows how to use them, you could refer to what was mentioned previously, Top Management, My Death Flags Show No Sign of Ending ...

 

The MC even knows of them before he even sees them ... he doesn't even need to see a flag to know it.

This concept of tropes is in the world building of this novel itself too.
The world of practical guide to be evil is like a playground of god.
The selected few in this world will take a role and got super power related to that role as 3 aspects( some 3 super natural power that make the selected person to be importance character instead of some background cannon folder.)
And there is evil role, hero role and some weird role without indication to evil or good.
The world itself will play a fate for those role like some stage play. Such as evil role will have advantage in the beginning of the fight and the hero role will somehow got op and win in the last minute. The heroine using this to her advantage somehow and that make this novel fun. LoL

warning: heroine is a bi and there is yuri scene in this but not detail scene though.

I haven't properly read it, but I think that The Author Reincarnated?! I'll Become An Amazing Villain! is the exact opposite of what you requested, due to what little I have read. Basically, MC knows he's in a story world, he was writing it and the first book was published the day he died. He wants to follow the journey that his character would have, and is starting 5 years before the hero's reincarnated. The issue is, how he acts isn't how the character he replaced acts, causing people's perceptions of him to change even if he's trying to set everything up for the Hero. Basically, he's trying to set down and follow the flags (to his death, actually), but failing. I have only read a couple of the early chapters.

He uses this knowledge to manipulate everyone and everything. Gets somewhat brutal and mindfuckery at times. And pls ignore the gameelements in the beginning, they soon dissapear and make way for the epic story.
