Came across this by accident but extremism should be globally renounced denounced regardless of the group involved. Where is the Hindu radicalist travel ban? Asking for the beheading of an actress should not happen in this day and age. Funny they didnt ask for the beheading of the male cast, after all it takes two to tango http://www.independent.co.uk/news/w...ollywood-film-to-be-burned-down-a8072766.html Havent seen a Bollywood movie in a few years might take the plunge or just watch an older one lol
You know what's funnier ? No one has even seen the movie yet and the movie is based on fictional characters.
Shocking When I read and watched video about the acidic throwing on women I was shocked. Instead of getting those criminals, actresses are getting bounties placed on their heads.. It is based on a legend, so it is likely fictional even if it is considered historically relevant. Hopefully the notoriety leads to the movie getting popular Tired of the Khans getting all the box office love Shahid Kapur deserves another big hit
You know your stuff!! The movie is based on 'historical legends/lore' which unfortunately have an alleged very high cultural significance to a group of politically backed religious extremists. Another way of putting this, is that someone is actually stirring this up so that the nation cares more about this, rather than some other really REALLY disturbing things going on in India. Seriously, reading the news these days gives me so much high BP.
It's actually based on historical characters. That's why there is so much noise regarding the depiction of the Rajput Queen. These guys have a hateboner for muslims so massive that it can fill the Marianna Trench.
Dude, when a girl got gangraped so bad that she died and the criminals weren't arrested because of a so called 'lack of evidence', that didn't get such a high amount of outcry and attention, as this movie did.
Religion is about control, nothing else. So shake of the shackles and stand proud in the face of those that would deny you. No matter if they are Catholic, Muslim, Hindu, Republican or Democrat. Always remember, Die Gedanken sind frei
That's quite ironic considering that quite a lot of "serious" Bollywood movies shamelessly plagirize other movies (whether the plagiarized movie come from India or other countries doesn't seem to make a difference for indian directors)...
You don't blame religion the same way you don't blame the knife or gun for killing people People kill people
Although Rani Padmini may have been a fictional character, the Rajputs venerate her. They are worried there might be distortions in character portrayals in the movie, particularly a rumoured dream sequence love scene between her & Khilji (It is said Rani Padmini performed self-immolation, along with thousands of Rajput women, to escape Khilji's evil clutches). And the Rajputs tend to be very intractable, bellicose & inordinately proud of their legends/history. Bhansali promised that he would screen the movie in front of a Rajput committee, get their approval before release. But he broke the promise. He is also in the soup for breaking protocol by screening the movie for scribes, before it was shown to the censor board. I fully condemn the threats against Ms Padukone, but I would find it difficult to trust a man who breaks promises/protocol. For whatever reason he is doing it, be it publicity (by creating controversy), or fear (if he has actually shown something which may piss of the Rajputs), he is still playing with the sentiments of one large community, especially ones that have hugely contributed to the Indian Army, and are well known for their bravery. I agree this issue has been blown way out of proportion, but it would not have gone this far had he not broken his initial promise.
Most countries plagiarize, I remember a South Korean Dragon Ball live action movie Plagiarism gets reduced when companies become more international and have a presence to sue locally but then again it doesn't help in places like China with no laws on it
The character which is loosely based played by Deepika actually kills herself, which is common as she is cause of war and her nation looses. I am not sure but this is what they say in news everyday
Please don't mention Dragon Ball + Live Action together in the same sentence. It brings up memories that will drive me to assult Film-makers.
