Zhou Yu & his brother get caught up in this, and both end up in research bases in Nibelungen. They both have separate romantic storylines, it's a modern-day (sci-fi-ish? with the parallel world?) setting, a little bit dark and thought provoking, but it is 1v1 with a HE. I'm so excited for this one, I've read up to I think 30 chapters so far So @xiin how should we start with this one? There's a lot of actions scenes in this novel and the plot is very deep. So far there's no romantic interaction between the MC and ML as this point as its more of MCs survival in that dangerous world. A LOT of canon fodders die... Like every time someone new is introduced... They're dead the next chapter Oh should I mention, this is interspecies (points at rule no 3).

Here's a brief summary from chap 1 to 6 (?). Sorry, I wrote this based of memory alone, which is not that reliable LOL! And all dialogues or scenes has been shorten/rephrased to help my poor brain... Spoiler Zhou Yu's (MC) special ops team was dispatched to neutralize a hostage situation. Their initial order from higher ups was to save a group of researchers held by a psychotic man. But once there, MC's whole team was annilihated by a hideous creature (that didn't have eyes, ears, nose). The only one to survive was MC as he went into the building to check up on his teammates after he received a distressed call from his vice-captain. In anger, MC managed to kill off the creature but was wounded badly (bullets couldn't injure the creature's body). He later woke up in a place, apparently saved by a corporation group named Juli. He met Professor Song Zhi who told MC that the creature was known as Peridot/Peridon (?) who hunts prey using fear. The only reason MC survived that ordeal was bcuz MC was enraged by his team's death and didn't fear the Peridon, therefore the Peridon couldn't sense/detect him. SZ said that the creature comes from a parallel universe named as Nibelungen, Juli Group has been sending researchers into that world to research about their regeneration abilities. Impressed with MC's skills when dealing with Peridon, SZ invites MC to join them. MC refuses but SZ said to come back and give him an answer after he met with his brother, Zhou Qing, who is a genius plant biologist researcher. Confused, MC went to meet his brother who he hasn't been in touched with for a long time (both are busy) and found out that ZQ is suffering from a tumor in his brain. ZQ underwent a surgery, but it wouldn't be the last. MC realized why SZ had said to made his decision after meeting ZQ, bcuz now, MC had no other way but to agree with SZ (as MC wants to find a cure for ZQ, and ZQ is interested to research the plants in Nibelungen). MC was later sent to Juli's base where he will train for a few months before going to Nibelungen. There he met with an IT Guy (Li Qian), a female doctor (Han Li) and an engineer dude (forgot his name). Anyway, their instructor (Wu Yun) came in and started to brief about the three main rules they need to remember if they wanted to survive in Nibelungen. He then proceeds to show gruesome videos of people's death when they forgot about the rules. Like getting killed off by Peridon....Touching a beautiful butterfly that will sink under their skin, multiplies by using human as nutrition until nothing is left (all happening within seconds)....and a pregnant woman who died while giving birth to a creature. WY caution them that S-class creature are very dangerous of all as it can mimic human form and turned into beautiful beings (their main purpose is to use human to breed as human blood is highly nutritious for them). Therefore, they should never trust an S-class creature at all cost even if the creature shows them a beautiful world (of how much they love you, how much they willing to die for you etc)...never believe in them. WY: Never think you are an exception... Bcuz in the end of the day you're just a food/breeding tool for them. Ignore the rules and you die.

yes, he is. i had this from a few days ago, so gonna post it~ it's a great intro for the super-cool-hot-badass MC. Spoiler: roughly edited ch1 because i like teasers The whole room is tense and the liaison officer's forehead is full of sweat, back already soaked. "Line two! Line two please respond! " "Is line three still connected? Line three please respond! " "Is line five still online?" In this makeshift command center, three liaison officers involved in the operation are trying to establish contact. The SWAT team members, that entered the Juli group biology research center have all lost contact within ten minutes. This silence is horrifying. Behind the three liaison officers, stands a man wearing a bulletproof vest. The action commander, Zhou Yu, is standing there with his arms folded. The twenty-eight year old Zhou Yu's face is cold, lips compressed into a hard line, the index finger of the right hand firmly pressed his left arm. He is silent because he is evaluating - the information that the research institute has provided is not enough. What in the world is it that can make seven specially trained, well-equipped, experienced SWAT players lose contact within ten minutes, and simultaneously let the command center have no idea what happened to them? This is a seemingly simple rescue operation. Juli group is a conglomerate of businesses from Asia, Europe and the United States that collaborated to invest in a biotechnology company. In recent years in the field of bio pharmaceutical has had rapid development, whether it is to control some malignant infectious diseases that have spread over large areas in Africa, genetic diseases or treatment of country officials, this group is very active. I might have read a bit faster bcuz I'm gonna be a bit busy tomorrow not sure if I can share detailed summary, might do a brief one and add extra details during fluff moments Btw for those of you who's interested, I recommend to MTL this one bcuz it's like 95% understandable... Like really, I'm not joking! If you like complex plot with good world building, this is totally the story to try

Spoiler part 2 ( from chap 7?), sorry I might have gone beyond so I forgot which chapters these event takes place at. *shrugs* Spoiler After a few months of training, MC, Zhou Qing, Dr Daniel (ZQ surgeon), Li Qian and Han Li was finally ready to go to Nibelungen. The engineer guy was absent bcuz he was sent to psychiatris after seeing the gruesome videos from the first training. Lead by Wu Yun, they rode the magnetic shuttle that was the transport that connects to both worlds. Their shuttle experience a terrible shake (an accident) and MC was knocked unconscious. When MC woke up again, WY was gone while the rest was still unconscious. Dr Daniel however woke up just after MC and they start to converse, where did WY had gone to? When MC opens the shuttle door, he immediately closes it off bcuz they are surrounded by Peridons. MC was sure he didn't feel fear against the Peridons, but he didn't want to scare Dr Daniel which would lead to him secreting the "fear hormone" which would then leak through the air and alert the Peridons. Since the rest were still unconscious, they wouldn't be targeted, but Dr Daniel would... So MC distracted him and quickly go out before shutting the shuttle door again. They were in a forest and there were a lot of Peridons, and MC realized they had arrived at their destination which is one of Juli's bases in Nibelungen. Unfortunately, the base seemed to have experienced an attack and there are bodies scattered around the forest. While MC was still inspecting, WY appears and said he was impressed. WY didn't believe when Song Zhi said MC could control his fear, now seeing was believing. They track through the base a bit and they found a hummer with a black container at the back. WY took the container, MC asked why. WY replies that this container need be sent to other base bcuz it must've been important. Sorry to cut this abruptly, but I gotta go for a bit lol! Will be back~ unless @xiin helps me spoils the rest XD
