I dropped it a couple years ago now, I think. It was when he was leaving some valley after his cultivation was crippled and he was learning to control some new type of power. He learnt how to fly in that valley and met an old grandmaster. Not a clue of what chapter it was and I am wondering weather the complete change in cultivation system is good enough for me to continue reading or is the change as bad as I thought it would be? Can anyone tell me the specific chapter out of morbid curiosity that will probably kill me?

Quite honestly, no, the novel is pretty generic as far as Chinese xianxia go, so go do something better with your life.
Somebody spoiled about how he Spoiler doesn't kill people with 1 hit strike through the throat much to non-existence anymore in the future, and become typical xianxia novel so I dropped it now.
It definitely got better after that point since he isn't just stabbing throats. But as I haven't even considered dropping it I have no idea whether you would enjoy it now or not

after i went back to read csg it actually made me realize the shortcoming of the novel and drop it for good
No way the killing 1 hit strike through the throat its great and more when its in arrogants stupids young masters. obviously they exgerate all the times that the mc do it, but its great.
