Discussion Words that just break the immersion

IS SOMETHING THE MATTER - This one really need to be emphasize. Coz I'm not really sure if its correct or its just me being over sensitive.

 

I think the translator references the terms he used in different kinds because the stories is referenced to different kind of novels. Like how mana, Qi and magic is different from each other.

 

It is not, I checked with the raw , the story is about ancient Chinese fantasy with ancient Chinese religion not about ancient Greek religion. All the Greek elements in the translated version are made up by the current translator.
Just imagine reading LOTR but somebody described Gandalf as Daoist priest instead of wizard, or reading Hercules story and you got Leishen instead of Zeus, that's just fked up.

 

Oh and thats what ruins the fun. Coz I thought it was like that in the raws. (Now you made hate it too.)

 

I really hated it when they use Lovecraftian names and greek/latin words in every chant ever.
And the "I don't like her but she is really pretty".

 

... Now I feel like writing a CN-style story and then just finish it with "it took 2000 chapters to explain, but it happened in the blink of an eye."

 

Found a new one... "tsukkomi"... reading s novel that uses it so frequently...

Tô a slightly less degree "a bead sweat formed on my face".

Trying to add anime into novels :/

 

When the Earth is referenced in a novel that takes place in a completely different world/universe.

ie: "The title of Jianghu and army merit were the two best things on earth representing a man’s spirit."

Should be "... two best things in the world..." or something.

 

When in a completely serious moment, when I'm reading the said novel, and suddenly Japanese shit appears!
Like, instead of saying, 'Right in the heart' saying, 'Right in the kokoro'
And this happening multiple times...
It's just plain annoying, if not retarded.

 

There have been 2 things that have pissed me off quite a bit.

1) Ending sentences with "ne". Especially when it's like every other sentence!

2) When MC talks about something a lot but doesn't reveal what said thing is. I don't mind if it's done once, but I hate it when they do it like every other chapter! Even worse when said thing is stupid!

 

Japanese words in a CN novel instead of using the english or chinese word ( like uke and seme feels awkward >.<" )

Also Japanese honorific words (-sama, -chan, etc) in western setting novels, but tries not to pay attention to it... since if it turned into an anime, it probably wouldn't sound so weird hearing Japanese unlike reading in English.

And TL rants that negatively tell aggregators to screw off every paragraph with cursing.
Like I don't want to read half of the novel with telling stealers to fuck off, but well I understand TL try to protect their work and sympathize with it and am willing to bear with it, but would love it to be slightly less and have the tone of these not ruin the story.
