Ran out of stuff to read, so rec me the saddest novel you've ever come across!

Can be english, chinese, korean or jap (although the latter two languages must have been translated...)

To make sure it's the absolute most heart-wrenching novel you've ever read, just rec me ONE novel.

    Thanks everyone in advance ~

It's not like lay in bed and cry sad, but it most certainly is heart wrenching these latest chapters of Still, Wait For Me. I don't think you would really cry about it, that would kinda be weird I guess, but dear lord it makes my heart beat heavily.

It is a short novel called Yosl Rakover talks to God.

It's about the experiences of a jew in the Warszaw ghetto during the Holocaust.

give it a read; it's worth it.

    Thank you for the rec!

The last part when he says, "You have done everything to make me lose my faith in You, to make me cease to believe in You. But I die exactly as I have lived, an unshakeable believer in You." really struck. Even after the Holocaust and everything he'd seen... still. :(

I don’t remember if it’s sad but my first or second manga I ever read is “Bitter Virgin” mc is in a confession booth (for some reason) and a classmate comes in telling the “father” about how her dad or step dad, I can’t remember, raped her over and over again. She got pregnant and got it aborted, her mom didn’t believe her and thought she was banging someone else and somehow made her spend even more time at home with daddy diddles. She gets pregnant again, however this time her mom makes her give birth and immediately puts it up for adoption. Now it’s the baby’s second birthday and she’s sad.

I’m almost positive this isn’t a spoiler as all of this is revealed in the first and/or second chapter
