Honestly, it doesn't really go anywhere and is more of an excuse for the male lead to show off, and for the female lead to have an actual reason for why her hatred is so strong. The step sister married Li Jingsheng but then he died, leaving her a widow. LQW took pity on her and let her hang out with her like all the time which gave Lou Lianxin opportunity to interact with her husband, Xiahou Qing. LQW was too busy trying to get Xiahou Qing onto the throne so Lou Lianxin and Xiahou Qing then got closer before she eventually crawled into his bed. They then got together and killed LQW which leads onto the first chapter of the novel.

Soo I saw this somewhere can't remember where and I want to know if it's true The MC killed all of her loyal subordinates and generals in this female dominated because the male lead wanted to be emperor, even though he was a man. So she wiped out all of his obstacles and then died so he could be emperor. But when she died, he realised that he didn’t want to be emperor, he just wanted to be with her and he was just so pitiful.
