I can imagine MC's exasperation in this. Although I do wonder how they would work out seeing your partner has to have a role or smth and sometimes get together with someone.

 

Spoiler: 1st arc

In the first arc, ML screwed it bc intended to pair MC w/ the FL, but bc MC is not the original, ofc he knows that FL belongs to ML, so MC always try to pair them, but ML always act like i shouldn't covet my friend's wife. ML actually feels sorry for MC character in the original, so. But once ML about to go to border/war or sth, MC played ML a song, iirc the song supposed played by FL, it's about lovers that separated, but MC's system kinda late to tell MC what the song about. ML started to like MC, but bc he thought MC is a part of that world, so ML distancing himself, he hoped MC will be happy w/ FL. But once ML away, MC didn't try to get close to FL, bc MC knows FL is not supposed to end w/ him. Actually in FL view (and most of people) ML+MC are a pair of lovers, but bc they both male so they think ML+MC tried to restrain their feeling. MC then helped ML's family to move from capital, and bc of this MC was jailed by the emperor bc he thought MC helped ML bc he loves ML, later ML rebelled and saved MC, and ML decided he wants to be w/ MC, but bc everything out of original plot, MC didn't know what to do and stay to his character, they end up separated.

btw, MC &his system always complain how a BG world turn into BL, lmfao

Spoiler: 2nd arc

Bc ML feels deceived by MC, so he intended to revenge and follow MC to the 2nd world. ML still the male protag in the 2nd world, and MC is the male supporting chara. They supposed in sth like love triangle w/ the FL of the 2nd world, but ML kissed MC in front of everyone, so FL doesn't have a good impression on ML, and she feels threatened by ML. FL tried to be w/ MC, which made MC doesn't know what to do anymore, when they reached capital ML even introduced MC to ML's friends as sister in law, at first they thought it was FL, but ML corrected them that their sister in law is MC. MC died protecting ML, originally ML was saved bc FL's space system or sth, but bc now ML always w/ MC when fighting zombie, so MC feels like he should at least protect ML. And after MC died iirc ML blow himself up or sth along w/ the zombie

Spoiler: 3rd arc

At arc 3, they kinda resolve their misunderstanding, though, ML kinda lied to MC that he'll help MC to get higher score in the next world, MC's system keeps remind MC to not trust ML, but MC decided to agree w/ ML's help. They're in fantasy world, MC's an elf and he'll be a villain boss after wanted to get stronger by using darkness power or sth. His chara suppose to be helped by FL of that world which lead MC fall for FL, but ML found MC and helped him. ML did that w/ an excuse that his character was around searching herbs, and bc FL wasn't around to help MC. ML told MC that his character can be grateful to ML's chara or sth. FL of this world fall at the first sight when met ML, but bc she then realized that it seems ML+MC in that kind of relationship ofc she doesn't want to be the third wheel, and even conviced MC that ML also like him xDDD FL+ML even bait MC who already using darkness power by saying that FL+ML fall in love w/ each other which please MC, and he intended to do his job to be 'jealous' and 'want to ruin them', then he realized it was only a trap, and ML want to purify him, so he can get back to the right path, but ML+MC ended up kill each other, bc in original ML supposed to kill MC (not sure about this bc mtl, but they died together).

Spoiler: 4th arc

After that ML confessed to MC that he's in love w/ MC and want to follow him to the next world. MC doesn't want his score getting lower bc ML never follow the script, and at arc 4, MC+system didn't know who the male lead, there's only clue that the male lead is strong, like to wear white clothes. So, in order to hide from ML, MC tried his best to not OOC, but bc his contract beast, he was found by ML. MC got a beast that like pure character, but bc MC's character supposed to be a villain, MC wanted to refused that white rabbit (glass rabbit ? not sure), but the rabbit act super meng so MC want to make contract w/ him, the rabbit then told MC that he can make an illusion, so others would see him as 'nightmare' sth (it's evil, arrogant contract beast), so MC agree. BUT unfortunately, ML's beast actually 'nightmare', but he made an illusion, so it'll look like the glass rabbit, lmfao, so when the beasts meet each other they show their dislike. And it makes ML realized that his discipline is MC, i haven't finished this, so idk how the end . . .

idk yet if ML has a superior, but it feels ML is like a high lv compared to MC, bc it was mentioned that ML can go to any world to spend his time or as a trip. ML's system feels like kinda scared of ML, and it always do what ML wants, so

idk what will happen if MC got lower score, at the first chapter it mentioned that MC will 'pass' maybe MC in some kind of test or exam ? i'll let you know if there's more explanation later, or if there's someone who read ahead, they can help to answer this ?

-ML is a veteran in world-hopping.
-He has successfully accumulated points and passed enough worlds to have autonomy in his choice of worlds and to have lover(even if it's a local in the world... Though unsure of this part).
-But he didn't have any interest in the people he had met in the worlda he's visited, until he met MC.
-MC is the first person he felt "care" for. Finding out MC was also an actor, he felt that he was played and wanted to have a bit of revenge(deliberately ruining 2nd arc's plot).
-In his confession, he had thoughts like: I'm interested in MC. The only comfort I got in 2nd arc was that MC still remembered the me of first arc, but he may forget me after he travels more worlds. I don't want to have a scenario of me still remembering him, but he has already forgotten me. So I will follow him and make my existence unforgettable for him. (Paraphrased)

Spoiler: Consequence

In the eighth arc, system gets a message. MC notices system was strange and asked what happened.
Turns out that because he scored low points continuously, his creator decided to cease his existence.(MC was made to be a fill-in-actor, but because he is failing, he'll just die. The first world is actually his first world. Thus his real name is Sui Yuan(name from first world).
The system said he would die after the end of this world. He decides to live according to his desires, have no regrets, and be together with ML for the last time.

Of course this will not be the end, there are more arcs!

Well, can't blame him. Actually, he is selfish because he changes the plot to be with MC, even when he knows MC works hard to stay true to the plot. But he acknowledges his mistakes when he says sorry to MC. ML knows that he has a part in ruining the plot but can't help himself because he can't stay with someone else in front of the one he loves.

Btw, one arc reveals that it isn't 100% ML's fault that the plot deviates... MC's charm also has a hand in it. He has a great affinity with the protagonists(really unhelpful when he was supposed to be a villain/rival of protag).

And ML wouldn't expect such a heavy consequence(?). He thought MC was a human fill-in actor like him that just needed to accumulate points. I actually don't remember if there was a threat of "death" for the human fill-in actors if they failed.

In the eighth arc, he actually tells MC that he didn't follow the plot he was given before 100%(when he was still accumulating points). He didn't have a good relationship with his supposed female leads even before meeting MC.
Iirc, he was an idiot about love, only focused on work and couldn't reciprocate love well in his past life(before world-hopping). He didn't improve in his romance skills until he met MC because he was always self-centered before, inconsiderate about others' feelings. It improved a bit when he met MC. He wouldn't force MC if it's truly against the will of MC. Btw, now his only focus is MC.

So he probably thought that even if some parts of the plot went wrong, it would be fine as long as the MC stayed true to the character setting and the storyline was mostly alright (except for ML ending up with the supposed protag of the world, he makes other love interests substitute his position).

Note: the 2nd paragraph in the spoilers is only my own assumption, haven't finished 8th arc and read about ML's possible reaction when MC supposedly "dies".

Spoiler: continuation of arc 4

. . . MC saved Shao Pei-Yuan (mtl name), but he's using mask bc he'll be OOC if he saved him normally, plus bc MC still not sure who's the male lead at world 4. But Shao Pei-Yuan called MC name, he believes MC is the one who saved him. Later MC join force w/ Guan Yu (not sure about the name bc mtl), he's also one of villain, and in original he supposed to like FL too, he said he wanted FL, but if MC can't give FL, then it's alright to give MC himself for Guan Yu. Later Guan Yu kidnap FL and said if Shao-Pei Yuan+MC wants FL back, they should exchanged her w/ MC. It's also a bit out of plotline, plus bc MC thought FL life is more important, so he gave himself to Guan Yu. FL feels guilty bc she thought everything was planned by MC (although it's true), she told MC to not exchange himself but Guan Yu kinda throw FL and brought MC to his real lair.

After MC took a bath he looks . . . charming or sth that makes this Yu guy want to do MC. MC doesn't rly care about virginity, so he about to let Guan Yu, he even asked his system what supposed to do between males, system try to lead MC, anyway they about to tear each other clothes, ML then appeared and saw that MC a bit half naked, he out of control and killed Guan Yu, he even crushed Guan Yu's soul, so he won't be able to reincarnate, this villain originally not to die at this time, but ML already OOC and it's said he's possesed by devil bc the way he practices or sth. All the elders then draw matrix blablabla to cage ML.

They know since before that there's sth wrong w/ the way ML practice, and now in order to calm him down from insanity, they should give what ML's obsess the most. Everyone actually think that FL is the one ML obsess, bc when someone (elders i think) talk about FL should be w/ MC as companion, ML refused that idea, they all thought it's bc ML likes FL. So the elders told FL to go to ML, FL surprised to hear that ML thinks about her in that way, but she's willing to do what the elders want, but soon she's back, she told the elders that ML wanted MC which makes all speechless and even MC tried to cover his face orz.

The system told MC that he just need to think that it's a way to save ML, so it won't be count as OOC (since MC chara supposed like 2 faced). MC went to ML, he surprised to see ML doesn't look like someone who possessed by evils. ML told MC that they just need to think that they're now the characters in this world, the system said bc what will happen soon a privacy it went to hide itself, MC kinda crying that the system shouldn't leave him xDD then they did it, MC inwardly sobbing bc he didn't know what to do between male bc w/ Guan Yu before the system haven't told him till the end. Afterward, ML wanted MC to be ML's companion, MC wanted to refuse bc ML is the male lead of this world and should end up w/ FL, but ML told MC that the male lead of this world is not clear, and they can just make someone fits the definition of male lead (about strong+white clothes), so ML won't be the male lead anymore.

ML also kinda soft-threaten MC (or warn him) ? that if MC refused ML, he'll get lot of trouble in this world, but if he accept ML's proposal to be ML's companion ML will help MC to complete the task, MC agree to be w/ ML. They met w/ the elders and later do the companion ceremony (wedding ?). ML also tell MC that he likes cultivation world, bc they can spend hundred years or more which makes MC determinant to complete the task faster bc ML always like to push him down xDD at the end MC killed by FL+Shao Pei-Yuan (< this guy is now can be said as the male lead). FL ofc doesn't want to believe that MC was behind everything, she+Shao Pei-Yuan thought MC consumed by evil bc he actually not willing to be w/ ML since MC true love is the FL (LOL), ML suddenly appear and said that he also know everything, he also helped MC, bc he loves MC, ML said if MC perish he'll perish too. The both of them then died, ML whispered to MC that he won't let MC wait him too long, MC kinda pissed off bc ML decided to follow him to another world again xDD

 

At first, ML's the male protag, but later, he ends up playing supporting characters. He needs to find which character MC's plays, but the more they get to know one another, the more they start to instinctively recognize each other.

ML's originally in the 'male protag' actor subdivision, but he likes MC, so he refuses to get together w/ the female protag. Later on, he tries harder to stay more true to the plot w/ the exception of the romance part, but it doesn't go nearly as well as MC would like it to.

 

So how did MC live past arc 8?

Spoiler: arc 5

MC is a dog in a normal peaceful BG world. Ha ha. MC is FL's dog, and this dog will be a link for FL+ML to start their romance (FL is ML's student btw). The system said that he wanted to try BL world, but bc it's still not approved so for the time being they're still in a BG world. The system also add whether ML could find MC, and if he still insist to be w/ MC dog, and do sth beastial, it'll no longer talk bad about ML anymore.

FL bought MC (she named MC as Snow), and MC started to live w/ FL, MC thought it was easy to act like a dog bc he only need to sell meng xDD the system thought that MC's IQ is low to begin and now it became lower after he's being a dog. There's a 2nd male lead too and it's FL's classmate, he also have a dog, and this dog much bigger than MC, the dog almost crush MC, and MC rolling or sth, then ML appeared. ML looked gloomy bc 2nd ML (Sun Jie based on mtl) tried to please FL and look like boy in love (ML though he's MC). MC kinda stiff bc ML appeared, but then he relief bc it seems ML still doesn't know that FL's dog is MC. The system also happy bc ML couldn't recognize MC. So ML in this world is like animal lover, he rubs MC body, and as a dog MC enjoy it, when ML's rubbing MC belly, ML saw that MC is a male dog, and ML was like "oh- you are a boy" then ML kinda touch sth that not supposed to be touch, MC super speechless xDD

Soon it'll be exam season for FL, so FL and Sun Jie study together, but bc Sun Jie also not smart FL then suggested them to go to ML's house, so ML can teach them. At first Sun Jie about to refuse bc he sees ML as his love rival, but FL insisted to go, so Sun Jie followed FL, they brought their dogs too. During study, ML kinda get close to Sun Jie, he tried to teach Sun Jie from behind, and kinda talk close to his ears which made Sun Jie blush, MC silently pray for Sun Jie and thought that ML might breaking bend this little guy xDD

After that Sun Jie's dog like in heat and i think rub himself on MC, MC super scared and ran, they heard MC cry, ML told FL+Sun Jie that Sun Jie's dog need to be castrated or else it'll out of control. MC froze bc thought how could human castrated that poor dog, he also afraid that FL will castrate himself too pffft. FL then asked ML whether MC need to be castrated too bc he's male, MC's kinda cry, when ML about to say yes, he saw MC-dog eyes then he realized that MC is the dog xDD he told FL that MC is still young, so no need to do so.

Later bc of plot MC need to be sick, in plot MC sick bc when FL away &she forgot to close the window and in result made MC sick. She called ML for help, ML came and he looks gloomy and gave MC Wuji pill (mtl name), the pill is from the previous cultivation world, the system actually also have it and intend to give it to MC later but ML appeared first. After drank it MC feels better and about to go back to FL but ML pushed him in ML arm or sth, and ML asked FL how the dog get sick, he kinda blame FL, while in original ML supposed to calmly appease FL, ML then suggest that he'll take care MC for the time being, FL agree.

At ML's home ML said that he finally could get MC, MC stiff and thought, so he already knew that the dog is MC, but bc MC is a dog so he can only reply ML w/ "Wang!" xDD the nightmare beast from previous world also in ML home, though now it's using illusion so it'll look like a cat while MC's glass rabbit now also there. MC asked system is it possible to bring the beast from the previous world ? The system told him it's possible but need lot money and the system cannot imagine how much money ML used to bring the beast. MC's glass rabbit looks spiritless, ML told him that bc the owner wasn't around so he looks like that, and in few days in might die, but soon after glass rabbit smell MC, he's back to be healthy.

After MC better, FL said that they should go to a vet, so they'll know MC health, ML agree. The veterinarian praised MC bc he's rly docile unlike others animal, then the veterinarian told FL to hold MC bc he wanted to enter thermometer into MC's behind LMFAO, MC super scared and struggle, he ran away and hide inside ML's arm. ML whisper, look isn't it scared that a human being to be a dog, so he shouldn't do sth like this anymore, and how it's better if MC with ML, bc ML won't castrate MC. pfft

ML later told FL that bc FL is a student so she always leave MC alone, it's better for ML to take care of MC, FL reluctantly agree, at first she even use MC as an excuse to visit ML, but soon stop. FL later more close to Sun Jie and they're together. As for MC, he's now in estrus phase he even like to run around to catch bitch (female dogs ?) which pissed off ML, ML threaten MC that he'll castrate MC while looking at his lower part xD MC pitifully try to stay calm, he's a dog now, so it's quite hard to restrain himself. He even unconsciously licking ML and rub himself on ML. ML said that he rly want to kill MC, bc now MC is a dog, so it's impossible even if ML want MC. ML then showed MC a folder which have beastial video i think, MC cannot believe what he saw and scared. ML then explain to MC that he will not force MC, it's also hard for ML, so they need to work hard together until the end of this task. After this the system said he'll no longer talk bad about ML, he also copied ML's folder bc it wanted to learn, the system insisted he only want to learn while copying the folder xD

ML's mom rly wanted ML to marry, so she introduced a girl to ML, but ofc it ended bc ML doesn't have feeling for the girl, and the girl also understand it, ML mom keeps saying how ML only care about his dog, and even ML's mom threaten to cut their relationship if ML still doesn't want to marry ML doesn't care. FL married Sun Jie, and now ML is already forty, MC soon dying beside ML iirc.
