So eariler today i went to visit the novelupdates forum on my pc with this account and same network but my laptop ip is banned but my phone(What am using atm) is connected to the same wifi everything works fine. How do i fix this????? Btw i have proof if anyone ones wondering.... THXS
Command line: Ipconfig /release Ipconfig /renew This will set you up with a new IP address on the local host. I've seen this work under certain rare cases without a proxy. Also check to see if you've got an update on your firewall. It could be Windows firewall blocking crucial ports. Try disabling Windows firewall.
DHCP leases survive reboot... Also, some routers have an onboard battery. If it is the router, you're going to have to use the gui. But yes, reboot is always the first thing to try.
You sure your phone is actually using the wifi connection and not its own? Assuming you haven't been IP banned on the forums under another account (@Tony isn't around at the moment and so I can't ask him) and just happen to have been assigned an IP - by your ISP - that has been banned before, the only reason your phone would work is that it's not using your wifi. That, or you're using some form of proxy and/or VPN on your computer... and should just stop doing that. I'm asking because the fastest solutions to your problem are to get a new IP from your ISP - possibly as simple as restarting your router, possibly way more difficult - or to have @Tony lift the ban on the IP you've found yourself stuck with by sheer coincidence. ... and neither of those will work at all if the problem is something weird on your side that has nothing to do with an IP banning on NUF. Unlikely as that is, given the specific nature of the issue. Plus, I'm just curious. TL;DR: Read the bold, do it, go home happy?
Start by going to http://whatsmyip.net on both your phone and computer. If you get different ip's, your devices are either connected to different networks or your router is set to bridge mode or your phone automatically switches between WiFi and mobile network. You can try the dhcp change mentioned above, but it's likely that the next dhcp will provide the same ip unless you stay offline for a while. If they are the same, something is more fucky. Try clearing your cache (ctrl+f5 in Windows), and otherwise contact Tony to get the ip ban reviewed.
might you be using vpn or proxies? it could be the case since your phone under same network works fine. however opera mini(and maybe others) also uses proxy if you turned on the data savers, the case maybe other way around where it's the phone uses proxies so they it could access the website
just saying hi other said what i want to say just note isp give ip to router and anddevice connect to that router have the same global ip, will each device has its own local ip so your best bet is to restart your router if that not worked (and its good chance as your phone is working fine) your pc is using proxy that is baned (its very rarly to get vpn ip ban so i dont think that is problem) ps: try using internet explorer as maybe chrome/firefox extension is proxy
Troll: It's totally the effect of Net Neutrality being defeated you didn't pay your ISP enough so they gave you a banned IP. Serious: Try what @userunfriendly and @Bagelson suggested and report back win+r type "cmd" Ipconfig /release Ipconfig /renew Clear cache with ctrl+f5 also try in incognito window Again let us know if that helped or not
thanks for the help guys it somehow got fixed today btw sorry for the late reply I was busy with school stuff.
