but srsly tho this latest chapter makes me wanna cry it's so great i hECKING SWOONED Wangji so badass aaaaAAAA it's like they have the same frequency?!?!?! also Wangji answering with his guqin in the middle of battle, translated to mnmm IM DED MY LIFE'S PURPOSE IS FULFILLED

 

Hubby is so OP that he can fight with sword in one hand, play guqin with the other and still have time to answer wifey's report of taking the children to safety while looking so damn graceful at that

 

XD LWJ Would’ve probably been happy if WWX actually said those words to him

 

Oh, he's probably already happy... except if he didn't hear WWX admitting Wangji is the best to the kids while smiling like a loon. Aghhh they're too cute for words.

Same! The XY wars in China are indeed pretty horrible. It's either "I MUST KILL YOU" or "CAN I MARRY YOU" lolol.

I dont hate him or like him, basically not interested, but i really really despise some of his fans. Not only they did the victim-blaming on XXC, SL and A Quing, some even bashing other characters, comparing him to WWX and bashing WWX. Yet, the most disgusting s that they totally bleached all of his crimes, acted like "oh my poor babe was abused as a child so why did you cruel ppl bashing him like that""he has the right to revenge for his abusive childhood""he is NOT evil, life makes him evil", i wonder if they all forgot all the innocent lives under his hands. Argh, no one ban them from loving XY (even if he deserved to die) but pls dont ignore his crimes and pretend they never happened for god's sake, dont make him the victim in the Yi city arc.
Sorry for the rant but seriously i cant stand XY's fan.

Uugh poor these 4's fate are truly tragic. The only only one left alive is XY but even then he's becoming even more unstable. *hugs XXC*

 

This is such a great series. I've been following it for a while, but this most recent translated arc finally prompted me to comment. I can't help but be impressed by a novel that can make me feel anger and disgust, but also extreme pity, all within a single chapter.

Don't get me wrong, XY isn't my favorite character--that would be a toss up between LWJ or WWX--and I don't think his childhood abuse justifies his actions in the slightest. But there is something very pitiable about this pathetic wreck, so obsessed with XXC that he'll go to such extremes to possess him/become him. As he cradled XXC's lifeless corpse, I couldn't help but think back to WWX's observation that XY's acting as XXC was perfect, down to the tiniest level. XY obviously admired and resented XXC in almost exact symmetry; it's why he took such pleasure in manipulating him, but never took any steps to interrupt the relationship that had formed between them.

I've enjoyed this novel since the beginning, but the emotional complexity of this arc makes me truly understand why it's so beloved.

 

I thought I was ready for this chapter, but then I had to take breaks while reading it because I was sobbing so much. This was the only time that I begged for a flashback to end so badly due to not being able to handle any more heartbreak.

 

So like, how long would someone ‘s leg could have been to kick someone in the shoulder?

 

I laughed so much at LWJ's drunk shenanigans part 2

 

What if it was a flying kick...??

 

WN is kneeling, even i can kick his shoulder (with big effort and much difficulty)

 

I thought he already stood up?

I can’t imagine LWJ doing a flying kick. Even if he did, we should have seen WWX tsukkomi’ed about it
